(In the universe I use them in, Shephards have crazy skills to deal with various glaringly superhuman threats, like well-developed minds and bodies, mastery of strategy, improvisation, tactics, diplomacy, leadership, business, tracking, various fields of science and history, boxing, ninjutsu, medicine, pro-swimming and parkour among others. But I assume if we're going to use them we'd tone it down.)

A large van pulled in the lot. It was all black with a large, complex, runic or glyphic seal contained inside a circle and painted in white on the side. Some guys in long, dark, ominous trenchcoats filed out.
"What do you guys suppose they're here for?" Al asked.
