"Very well." Al said, waiting for the others.
"Very well." Al said, waiting for the others.
Aspen took off her cloak and put it in her pack. She focused and felt her wings flapping behind her. She flew over to the others
Meun followed behind the general group, stashing the napkin he had previously used to wipe at his eyes. He had a hand on his other elbow, rubbing at where he had been struck with the bottom of a gun earlier
“So where do we go?” She asked
Cressida follows, swaying slightly.
"Alright, we should take a left here." Al said, turning. He made sure to look back, checking on the others.
Cressida holds a hand to her head. "Guys? I think I'm gonna pass out."
Al jogs over, supporting Cressida.
"You sure." He asks.
"Yeah." She says, swaying again. "This sort of thing happens a lot. I need to go talk to someone. Be right back."
She smiles, then falls to the ground, unconscious.
Al picks her up, draping her over his back, he walks on. It was a good thing his physiology kept him from getting drunk easy. He was still in tip-top condition.
Aspen follows the others
A few minutes later, Cressida wakes up with a shout. She sits up, muttering under her breath.
"Easy there." Al says, putting her down as they walk.
"Why can't he ever just ask before needing to talk to me?" Cressida complains. "I mean, you'd think my godfather would know best of all that I'm often in busy or dangerous situations!"
She stops and looks at the group. "I sound like a crazy drunk right now, don't I?"
"Nah." Al says, stuffing his hands in his pockets. The tails of his coat hang loosely around his legs.
“Most of us are crazy.” Aspen grinned
"Um, so this is going to sound weird, but my godfather is… death. Like, the entity. It's kinda complicated, but the only way I can go talk to him is by partially dying, or being unconscious." She laughs. "It sounds ridiculous now that I say it out loud."
"That's why I fainted, by the way. Not because I'm drunk, which I am, but because of that. Is anything I'm saying making sense?"
“Not really. I have a dragon in me who is murderous when insulted. Even as a joke.” She said nonchalantly sitting on the roof of the car
"I get you." Al said.
"Cool." Cressida checks the time on her phone and sighs. "Wil's gonna be so mad that I'm out late. And I'm probably going to get grounded for drinking again." Since fixing her glamour earlier, she looks more like her actual age (16).
Meun tilts his head curiously. He had totally forgotten humans had drinking ages, though he supposed that was because he hadn't done his job much lately
Aspen flew around the car
Baz continued to follow after the group, standing next to Meun as he listened to the others talk, deciding to not really comment on the conversation. The only person that would honestly get mad at him for drinking was Daus, a godly friend who tended to check on him every once in a while.
Alright. Here we are." Al said, guiding them to a large motel. And then into his room. His suitcase lay beside the bed, and his keys lay on.the table.
"There's plenty of refreshments in the fridge, cable's decent too." He said. "Ice and towels are free."
