Nodding, Xavier looked both way to make sure no car was coming. Pointing his hand to the empty road he continued, "Your coming in or out?"
Nodding, Xavier looked both way to make sure no car was coming. Pointing his hand to the empty road he continued, "Your coming in or out?"
"Um… since you handled the patients, out? Unless…" She sucked in the side of her lip. "You didn't happen to help a patient named Riley, did you?"
Pulling a pierce of paper out of his pocket, Xavier looked down the list of name people he had helped today, "Uhh, I worked on two Riley's today, so what's her last name?"
"Riley Thomas," Evera replied, her browns knitting.
Looking back down at the sheet of paper, Xavier nodded, "Yes Riley Jill Thomas, she was the one with the chest shot wound, but don't worry, she is recover."
"Oh my God." Evera buried her face in her hands, her heart racing. Had Riley been shot in the same shootout she was in? Was this her fault? Leaping off the motorbike, she gasped a quick "Thank you!" to Xavier before dashing through the parking lot. She had to get to Riley.
Racing outside his house, Leonard darted down the street on his bike. 'What was this about a shooting?! Why was I not there! I could have helped!' Hugging the curve, he rode down the sidewalk to the Silver Garden Hospital.
(I guess ill write something else since Mila/Alice disappeared)
Evera stepped into the hospital lobby, dashing to the front desk. The moment before she reached it, she realized what a hot mess she looked. Oh well. She smiled at the secretary, attempting to smooth her hair. "Hey, hi…"
"Dr. Chung," she greeted, unruffled, still typing away at her computer.
Evera maintained her frazzled grin. "I need to know which room Riley J. Thomas is in. She was admitted earlier tonight. Um, gun shot wound?"
The secretary nodded. "Room 1342."
(Sorry sorry school was overwhelming)
Alice took Eve by the arm and they both rushed over to said room. "So, what's the deal with this Riley?"
"She's my girlfriend," she replied softly. "Chances are, whoever was chasing me knows that. Maybe they singled her out." Her throat grew thick. She couldn't cry. Not now.
(that's okay I understand)
Alice went silent and put a comforting hand on Eve's shoulder. "She's fine, Evera. She's fine,"
Evera nodded, wringing her hands together. They reached room 1342 and entered easily. Evera's eyes darted over the room. Something wasn't right. No one was in there, it was dark, and the sheets were stained with blood. "Alice…I think something's wrong."
Alice scanned the room and lightened it with a flick of her wrist. The switch flipped up and everything was illuminated.
Evera took in the scene, her eyes wide. The room was practically destroyed. In the center of the bed lay Riley's phone, face down. On the ground near the bed, a nurse slumped against the floor, limp. Dropping to her knees by the nurse, Eve checked her vitals. Alive.
(going to be inactive for a couple hours, I have class)
(ok see you later)
Alice gingerly approached the bed. The blood was fresh but at least an hour old. She searched the room, apprehension blooming inside of her. She looked out into the hallway: everything was normal. Wouldn't someone have noticed this by now? The machines were still on as well, wires trailing on the floor and an IV drip stood near the wall. Riley obviously hadn't been moved easily, whether she had been fighting back or too weak to move. Either way, she was in danger.
"Evera, we have to find Riley. Something's not right with this…" she murmured to her new friend, who was checking the unconscious nurse on the floor.
Racing through the hospital parking lot, Leonard darted up to the front entrance and through his bike on the ground. Dashing inside, he pulled out the piece of paper from his pocket, on it listed the people that had been shot. 'I have to find these people,' he thought as he walked up to the front desk, 'they might have a clue about these shootings, maybe they even saw something before they were shot.'
Looking up at the lady that was messing with the computer, he asked, "Miss, uh, which room is Mister Long staying in?"
"That will be room 1343, you first-"
"thanks!" I said quickly, darting off before she could continue.
Parking the car at the edge of an alleyway, Xavier watched as the police stalked around the area. This was where the shooting had taken place, and it was not that hard to tell 'No' shooting had taken place here. There were large bullet holes in the brick walls and some splatters of blood on the ground. 'This shooting was more gruesome then I expected.' Xavier thought as he looked at the chalk outlining of a person body.
Evera's hands shook. "God…this is all my fault." Her voice wavered. "I have to find Riley. I have to –I…" Tears ran down her face as she shakily reached out and took Riley's phone off the bed. It was dead.
Alice cautiously approached Evera and sat her down on the floor. She pulled her into tight hug and let her cry until the worst had passed.
Evera calmed herself, taking a few deep breaths until she felt half way alright. Pulling away, she looked at Alice. "I'm sorry I've dragged you into this. You've been amazing. You don't have to…" she didn't finish, and could only hope Alice knew what she meant.
Alice shook her head firmly. "I'm not going anywhere." She helped Evera up and dusted herself off. "Now, let's find Riley."
"Right." Evera sniffles, drying her face with the sleeve of her sweater. "I guess the first thing to do is report this to the police. Then I'll charge her phone. Maybe they left it for a reason?"
