"Sounds good," Kaz answered, his tone chipper despite everyone's obvious concern. He thought it was sort of funny, really, but he wasn't going to comment on that

“Maybe there’s a basement or something that has a lab,” Vaughn said, setting his mug in the sink and making a mental note to wash it later on.
"Mm-hm," Avery hummed. She stood up and absentmindedly brushed her pants off. "Where should we start?"
(Bumping.)
“Did anyone see any stairwells when we first came in?” Vaughn asked, head turning as he looked around the room.
Avery shook her head. "No, not going down. They could be behind a door, though."
"Allow the guy who can see electrical currents to lead the way!" Kaz said, faking enthusiasm while he waved a hand in the air. He walked out of the kitchen before making his way into the living room
The corners of Vaughn’s lips twitched up into a faint smile as he followed Kaz, looking around as he did so. The house was much more large than he had thought it was, and he wondered what else could be hidden there.
Kaz walked across the living room and into a side room, which appeared to be nothing but a maintenance closet. Though when Kaz walked to the far wall he pulled on the handle of a mop, causing the back wall to shift and open to a small elevator
Avery had followed the guys through the house, and she raised her eyebrows when Kaz opened a secret door.
"How did you know to do that?" she asked curiously.
"I've got magic electricity eyes," Kaz said, gesturing to his eyes. Their usual grey was being slowly replaced by violet, a small side effect of when he was using his more demonic aspects
"Oh… Okay, then. That's cool," Avery said, nodding slowly. "Just so we're clear on this, the whole 'ladies first' thing does not apply to dark, creepy spaces in robot houses…"
Vaughn’s eyes glanced to Kaz’s, and his lips shifted into a tight line. He was always put off by their change in color. He looked over at Avery at her remark, and he gave something that could have been a stifled laugh.
"Well, lucky for you I was going to go down first anyways," Kaz hummed before turning towards the chamber. He pressed a button, walking into what looked innocently like a cramped elevator
(Okay, guys, I've gtg. It's almost 12:30 for me, and I have to work tomor—later…)
Avery snorted. "Good. Is he always like this, by the way?" she asked teasingly, nodding over at Vaughn.
(lmao okay)
"Only on a good day," Kaz responded before gesturing. "Okay, all aboard the creepy mop elevator. I'm not sailing into the abyss on my own."
(Alrighty, seeyah)
“I can be in a good mood,” Vaughn protested, his brows raising as he looked over at Avery. “If I feel like it,” he added quickly before stepping into the elevator.
Avery smiled slightly and slowly shook her head before stepping in after the guys. This should be real fun…
Kaz pressed the button for the elevator to close. There seemed to be no other buttons beside that one. “Alright, that’s not weird at-“ He cut himself off with a loud Yelp as the elevator suddenly shot downwards, Kaz scrambling did something to hold onto as it did so
Avery let out a surprised squeak when the elevator suddenly dropped. She squeezed her eyes shut tight and bit her lip to keep from screaming. It felt like her stomach was in her throat and her heart was in her head.
(This died… That's kinda sad.)
(Echo?)
(Woah! Hey, you’re here! Welcome back!)
(Oh wow, lmfao. This is old)
(Lol. Very. I didn’t think it was coming back.)
