Travis couldn’t stop his eyes from watering. Great. He was always the whiny brother, the crybaby brother. He would have just cried if he didn’t think Cain would mock him for it. “You think it’s any easier for me, Cain?” Travis asked, his voice breaking. He used to prey on innocent people, but he wouldn’t let himself go back to doing that. Even now, the only way he could get by was by taking the energy or blood from animals, and it left him weak. He was doing all he could not to let it show how tired he constantly was. “I can help you. Just please let me help you.”
But Cain didn't want help. He wanted to be free, or as close to free as he could be. He knew full well the animal based diet his brother had taken on, and would rather die than fall into the same hole. He may as well have been dead by that point, for as long as Aria lived he wouldn't feed on humans. Not their blood anyway. "No, thank you." he grumbled, keeping his back towards his brother. "I'm fine just the way I am."
Travis knew that no matter how much he talked, he wouldn’t convince Cain to change his mind about that. But maybe he could change Cain’s mind about how their relationship? Travis really did crave a better relationship with his brother. “I just want us to be friends,” he mumbled, his voice wavering.
(Oh goodness, i totally forgot about this! Can someone be so kind and catch me up on what's happened?)
(basically Cain told Travis that he would stop being a jerk to him if Travis got him some of Tyler’s blood but Travis said no so now he’s trying to convince Cain that they can have a better relationship without Travis hurting anyone)
(Oh okay. Thanks a bunch! Aria will just sit in the sidelines watching this happen ig
"Friends?" Cain sneered, his usual demeanor returned as he slowly craned his head to see Travis. "Why on earth would you want that?"
He moved back towards Aria, discreetly touching her hand with the back of his, but not so much that anyone would think he was doing it on purpose. "While you spend your time with strange girls and animals, I have better things, and better people, to be with."
No, why was he saying that? He didn't want to say that! His parents had drilled the idea that Travis was an outcast into his brain, it wasn't something he could forget so easily. He wanted to be a brother to Travis, but with so many obstacles in the way it was hard.
Aria watched the whole thing unfold. Confusion overwhelming her mind.she didn't know Travis very well. But she did know they were brothers. She was long gone, lost in thought until something touched her hand. She jumped when it did, but she looked down and saw that is was just Cain. She wanted to just leave right then.
The atmosphere around Aria changed, and Cain was the first to know. With one last glance at the girl who Travis was so keen to protect, he licked his lips slightly before heading back towards the stairs. "We do not need to stay. There is nothing of use here."
Travis blinked, a tear sliding down his cheek. “I just…I just thought…” he started, feeling like a little boy again for a moment, heartbroken and abandoned before he swallowed thickly and glared. “Fine. Leave then. I…I don’t need you anyway!” He managed to get his voice relatively steady now as he wiped away his tears (including the ones which remained unshed).
"You will always need me, little bro, whether you like it or not." Those were the last words Cain hissed to him before vanishing completely from Travis' sight. He needed to get out of there, and the sooner the better. His fingers began to twitch nervously, his eyes darting around the place as his vision threatened to fade completely. As soon as he could sit down, he would be fine. Or so he told himself.
Travis glared after Cain, flipping the bird in the direction he had gone. He didn’t need Cain! Though of course his emotions were saying otherwise, and Travis was the emotional one in the family. He turned and looked at the others, embarrassed and upset (though doing his best to hide it).
(Uhm just kind of like try and talk to Travis, maybe question him what all that was about??)
Tyler walked over to Travis ¨What Was That all about?¨ she asked
“Cain was…” he fumbled for words. He didn’t really want to admit that Cain had asked him for her blood. That might come off as creepy. Not that Travis cared what Tyler thought of his brother. “Being an ass, as usual.” He did his best not to sound pathetic.
Tyler sighed "I'm not stupid" she knew when people were lying to her
"It's not a lie," Travis snapped, before taking a deep breath and trying to calm down. "He asked me to get some of your blood," he added in a calmer voice. "I said no, obviously, and he got pissed. That's it." Travis shrugged nonchalantly, though his insides were still a mixture of emotions.
Tyler chuckled slightly "m-my blood your b-brother?"
“Yeah,” Travis replied, before realizing something. “Wait, that sounded extremely weird and creepy, but uhh yeah…I’m not sure how to explain that…” At least, not without telling you that I’m a vampire. Everyone would be thrilled about that, he thought. Of course, he didn’t typically follow the rules.
She nodded slowly not sure what to do.
"I swear he's not some weirdo who keeps people's blood in jars or anything…I'm just making this worse," Travis sighed. "It's just…" He glanced around to make sure no one else was there before continuing. "My family isn't exactly normal. My brother…he doesn't eat regular food, at least not often. He sort of…feeds off of energy…" And so I… he added mentally.
She gulped,"so he's a vampire" she whispered
After a little while Aria decoded to speak up. She didn't really want to ask him, but she was too curious not to. "Cain…." She laced her fingers within his. "What was that about, ?" She asked him as her green eyes looked up to him, her pastel pink hair falling over her shoulder as she turned to face him. Biting her lip… Did she want to know the answer?
Zavain wandered the forest in search of the old house. Maybe if her destroyed it his vision wouldn't come true. Maybe there was something in the house that triggered her magic. He wasn't sure, but he was going to find out. Pulling his hood off, he looked around to make sure no one was watching. He didn't want people to know he was a warlock, it would only draw attention to himself. He mumbled a few words, and a blue glowing path appeared leading him the way to the house.
