For the first time he could remember, Cain didn't want to meet Aria's eyes. He felt ashamed, wanting to taste the blood, to steal the energy, of a human—albeit an abnormal one. With her fingers laced in his, he could feel his starvation beginning to take over. He knew for a fact that his eyes had turned completely black. No, he wouldn't act upon it, he couldn't; he couldn't do that to Aria. "Nothing, it was just me being a prick to my brother."
Cain….i know it's more than that" she tightened her grip on his hand, afraid he would walk away and never return to her. "You….you can talk to me. You don't need to hide anything from me…you know that right?" She says, concern filling the tone in her voice. What was he hiding exactly?
She knew something was up. So what wasn't he telling her? And why?
No, not there, not where hundreds of people could potentially see them. True, classes were in session, but that didn't mean someone couldn't come walking around the corner at any moment. "It's fine, Ari." Cain put on a bright smile, one that he only wore around her, and replaced his glasses back onto his face. He didn't need them to see, but it was comforting to have them there. "I'm just a bit tired is all."
She sighed, letting her hand slowly slip from his as she looked to the side, away from his face.
She didn't like it when he lied to her. And she could tell when he was. But what was it?
She had no idea. She wrapped her arms around herself for a second as if she was cold, still looking down to the side as her pink hair fell in her face. "Well if you want to ever tell me the truth you're welcome to" she says turning around. She recomposed herself and almost totally changed into a different person. Confident and witty. Someone who would divinely kill you on spot if you mess with them enough. Aria had a very short temper after all.
With all of her confidence and her fakeness, she walked away to class.
She gulped,"so he's a vampire" she whispered
“I didn’t say that…” Travis defended. He quickly gave in, realizing that it was better just to swear her to secrecy instead. Hopefully Cain wouldn’t kill him for this, but then again if his brother never found out, then he wouldn’t kill Travis. “Okay, well you figured it out. I didn’t tell you. And if you tell anyone, Cain will kill both of us, got it?”
"Damn it Aria, I'm starving!" Cain's voice was slightly raspy, though loud nonetheless. She was walking away from him… No!
He watched her walk away, a churning feeling developed inside his chest and stomach. Pain? Hurt? Cain didn't know what the feeling was, but he didn't like it one bit. He rose to his feet, clutching his stomach. "Fine," he spat quietly, his eyes were definitely black now. "I don't need you anyway."
She turned around the first time he spoke. She looked away. A churning feeling in the pit of her stomach. She should have known.
She knew who he was. What he was.
She opened her mouth to say something but then his words rang through her head like a bell on a Sunday.
"I don't need you"

It rang through her head over and over again. Burning through her mind like a blade to her skin.
She stiffened and bit her lip.
She should have known
Cain turned away from Aria with wide eyes, realising what he'd actually said to her. No.. God no!!!
He needed to get away, he couldn't let himself hurt her any more than he already had. She couldn't see him in that condition…He staggered away, clutching his stomach harder. Throw up, throw up and everything would be better. But there wasn't anything to throw up. Using his powers had drained what little energy he'd had left, now he was running purely off will power.
"Cain….." She says loud enough for him to here her shaky greath.
"You….don't mean that" she says quieter clenching her fist and biting her tongue, trying not to cry. Her eyes swelled up with tears and her vision got blurry. The atmosphere around them started to change slightly. Like a glitch in a video game almost. Back and forth and bits and pieces into black. She choked back tears, wanting to walk after him.
She thought back to when she squeezed his hand tighter as they walked out. Every time she held his hand he held hers back. She was always so afraid he would turn his back on her. Saying "i don't need you anymore"
And that's what happened. That's exactly what happened.
"ты не имеешь ввиду что" she says out loud. Her mind was so mixed she couldn't even speak English. Russian was her first language. It happened rarely. But when it did it was because her mind was going through everything at once. Freaking out every which way. Thoughts ramming into her and stabbing her in the chest.
Only someone who knew her as well as Cain did would know that.
But he didn't care. He didn't need her anymore.
She turned away and ran to the back door and ran out into the school.
Running into the woods, these surrounding her like thorns in her chest.
ты не имеешь ввиду что
She's not behind me…She was speaking Russian!
No..no no no!!!!
Pivoting on his feet, Cain swallowed back the pain and went after Aria. I can't lose her..
The pain tore through his entire body, causing him to stumble a few times, but still he pressed on. He needed to catch up to her. "Aria!" he called, his voice cracking. He wasn't going to deny the pain any more. "Aria please… I didn't mean that.."
He kept running, the sun blinded him more than it should have done but perhaps most of the blindness was being caused by the tears that fogged over his eyes. He caught up to her, and grasped her hand to stop her from running. The pain was becoming too much for Cain to handle, causing him to fall to his knees, still holding on to Aria's hand. "Please.." he sobbed, his throat was now dry. "I need you Aria Stone.. I need.. need you."
Tears flooded down her face and down her neck as her hair fell in her face. She felt her hand grasped by another. She whipped around then to the ground to see Cain. She bit her lip as more tears fell down.
She wanted to believe him. She really did. She wanted to so badly.
But she couldn't get his words out of her head. She knelt down to him and ran her fingers through his soft hair. She didn't care if he needed her or not.
"I mean…what does she even need me for? I don't help him much..do i?" she thought to herself.
"Get up Cain. Let's get you some rest. You must be exhausted" she says in a soft, almost motherly like voice. She was going to try to help him. Care for him. She should have known. She should have realized what he was going through.
He was a vampire after all. He was starving. He was hurting.
She wasn't surprised. Through she felt empathy. And a lot of it for him.
She couldn't imagine what that would be doing to him.
But Cain couldn't stand up. His hand slipped away from hers as his body completely tumbled to the ground, writhing in pain.
"Ar..Ari.. I'm sorry." his black, mist filled eyes flashed up at her, tears streaked the sides of his face. "I never..never meant to say that. Please don't hate me." He needed to get her away from him, the risk of hurting her was too great…
She smiled down at him as she lifted his head from the ground with gentle hands. "I could never hate you. Even if you hated me to the ends of the earth." She ran her fingers through his hair once more. "Can you get up? I know you must be tired."
(Sorry it's a lil short. my phones about to die)
A sharp jolt caused the boy to shake his head suddenly. His vibrating body twitched as he tried to move, to a normal person it would look like he was having an epileptic fit. The pain he felt was for from that. "I cant.." Cain sobbed. More tears fell from his eyes as he tried to look up at her. "I can't Ari.. It..It hurts so much."
(It's okay!)
She started to panic slightly, but she kept herself composed. "Okay Cain, tell me what to do to help you and I'll do it. If anything I can stay here with you" she says taking a deep shaky breath.
" You mean that psycho who was gonna make you choose me or your family you should've choosen your brother why did you choose me?" She asked.
Travis blinked, not prepared for the question. “It wasn’t like that…Cain’ll come around,” Travis responded, wanting to believe it. “Eventually. Besides, I can’t hurt an innocent person. I just…can’t.” As he said this, he was intensely aware of the shadows under his eyes and how hollowed out he must look from his diet of solely animals.
"I'm not Innocent by any means" she said .
(I'm not sure what to do.)
(I haven't forgotten, I'm just a little busy this weekend so I'll respond when I can)
"What do you mean by that?" Travis asked, looking into her eyes. "Besides, your innocence or lack thereof doesn't matter. I'm not going to sacrifice anyone to my brother."
Tyler looked around she grabbed his hand and pulled him along to the schoolyard
"Where are we going?" Travis asked, glancing down at their hands for a moment before looking back up at Tyler, blushing slightly.
She led him to a shaded tree and pushed him against it.
