Jay passed one and slowed a little. It was enormous, showing a faded gate with an enormous terrifying-looking wolflike creature beneath it, and it glowed a sickly green. He shook his head and kept walking, rubbing at his eyes a little

Addison watched as one of the guys suddenly turned and knocked out his companion. Addison tried to scream but no sound came out.

Jay heard something distantly, farther down the tunnel. He continued walking, more and more of the glyphs and pictures appearing until the tunnel took a sharp decline. It opened into a small hole that seemed to have no bottom, and the same faint glow from before came up from it. "Oh, lovely."

Jay's eyes widened. "Ohhh, no. We are not jumping. Not down that. You jump, you get impaled."

“Aw man.” Lucille said, she picked up a small rock and dropped it down the hole

"What we can do is go down it safely, pray the meltwood isn't hungry, and get out of the cavern as fast as possible," Jay said. He grabbed his hoverboard out of his bag, unfolding it. "I'm not certain whether the gravity effects are active, so we'll have to be careful."

The man turned to Addison. "Now, you. Where do you think happened to the other teams that were sent here?" He walked towards Addison. Her scream could be heard echoing off the walls of the cave.

Jay winced. Distantly, he could hear Addison. "Okay, tossing caution out the airlock. Phoenix, you're flying. Lucille, hop on."

Phoenix didn't even hear Jay's last words, she was already taking off as soon as she heard Addi's scream.
SESTRA I'M COMING she transmitted frantically, going as fast as she could.
The strange glow got brighter as Addi's screams got louder.

As they got closer to the glow, odd, spindly trees began to form from the glow. Jay felt a bolt of fear shoot through him, but he shook it off
