"Same I'm doing some hw. I miss u"

"oh that reminds me. i need to do hw. i miss u too."

Finn smiled at the screen. "Yeah I have an essay due tomorrow. :("

"ouch. that sucks" Jay started working on his homework.

"Yeah" Finn typed. "What hw are you doing?"

"math."

"Ewww" He typed laughing.

"exactly lol" Jay chuckled softly.

Finn laughed again. "I'll message you when I'm dont with my essay but I'll still check once in a while to make sure ur ok" he typed waiting for a response before going to another tab.

"okay. thanks" Jay replied. He kept working on his math.

Finn worked on his essay. Checking on the doc every 10 or so minutes.

Jay didn't post, working on his math. When he finished, he posted, "done".

Finn finished his exam a little while later. "Good and same. Is that all ur hw?"

"yeah." he replied.

Finn smiled at the screen again. "Nice I'm probably going to sleep soon"

"ok. ill see you at school then?"

Yeah see you Love you" He type quickly.

"love you too"

Finn kept his computer on as he got ready for bed.

Jay changed into pajamas, hiding his phone just in case his dad came in. Which his dad did, not bothering to knock. Jay could smell the alcohol on the older man's breath as his father came closer.
"Where were you?" his father growled.
"I was out. W-with a friend." Jay replied softly, hunching his shoulders and looking at his toes and waiting for the blow to land.

Finn laid down with his computer open but he couldnt sleep. He made a split screen so he could look at the doc and play some games at the same time. "You still up?" He messaged the doc before noticing that it showed that Jay wasn't on.

Jay cringed, letting out a cry as a fist landed on his ribs, another hand slapping his cheek. He fell, curling into a ball to protect his body.

Finn grew nervous at the lack of response. He could just be going to sleep. It was getting late.

After a while, his father closed the door as he left the room. Jay was crying, fresh bruises on his body as he got up onto his bed and pulled out his phone with shaking hands.

Finn saw that Jay was back on and waited for a response.
