"I think it's possible. But of course, I have my doubts." Isaac admitted. "We need to trust him though. This could be life changing information."
"I think it's possible. But of course, I have my doubts." Isaac admitted. "We need to trust him though. This could be life changing information."
Kaitlin nodded and sighed, "Fine… I guess you're right," She turned to Sam, "What happens now?"
"You come to the organisations base."
Isaac looked at Kaitlin. "Kaitlin it's time to go. We need to find out what's going on." He tried not to be forceful with her.
"What about bags? Do we need any?" She asked and Sam shook his head.
"There's stuff at the base, come on it's a long drive."
Kaitlin stood, reluctantly but stood.
Isaac followed her lead and looked to Sam to lead the both of them. He hoped the look in his eyes would adequately display how much he was urging Sam to be careful.
Sam looked at Isaac before heading out of the house and towards his car, where Lily was sitting in the front seat. Kaitlin got in the back and shuffled over to make room for Isaac.
Isaac sat beside her and held her hand to keep her centered. He gave her a nod that said, 'We're in this together.'
Kaitlin gave Isaac a small smile and lent her head on his shoulder, sighing as she closed her eyes.
"We'll try and get to the base as soon as possible to get you settled in." Sam said as they started driving.
"Alright." Isaac responded, kissing Kaitlin's head and smiling.
It was a long drive, probably six hours and they didn't stop very much, maybe twice for fuel and bathroom breaks but it was mostly driving, and driving in silence. At some point, Kaitlin had fallen asleep but was jolted awake when they passed over a bump in the road.
Luckily, they had arrived as a huge white building with floor to ceiling windows on some parts rose in front of them and gave a very intimidating feel to the place.
"Here we are, the SMPP's base." Sam said as they pulled up.
Isaac stretched and yawned, he was really exhausted from the car ride. "Huh? Oh.. We're here."
Kaitlin nodded, "Yeah… looks like we are."
"I know it looks intimidating, but we'll let you both get settled into your room and get to know the place before dinner." Sam said, stepping out of the car with Lily.
"If you say so." Isaac said, stepping out of the car then helping Kaitlin.
Kaitlin thanked Isaac and held his hand as they followed Sam and Lily into the base. It was deathly white and clean. Couples strolled the place without a care in the world, some giving Isaac and Kaitlin a wave and a smile. Sam gave them a tour of the place, the training rooms, labs and everywhere else before going to the living quarters.
It was a building separate to the main one, connected by a glass tunnel. Sam explain that this was where most couples stayed. It was like a normal house with enough room for at least a sixty people. There was the main living room with a kitchen connected, all modern design. There was a games room, gym and pool. On the above level, there was all bedrooms, joined with their own bathroom.
"And here's your room, feel free to move things to your liking." Sam said before leaving with Lily.
Isaac was getting a little more comfortable with the idea but still had a strange feeling of protectiveness for Kaitlin, knowing how sensitive she was about it. "Relax Kaity cat." He motioned for her to sit down next to him. "Let's just hang out and talk for a little bit okay?"
Kaitlin nodded and sat down on the bed, relaxing back into it, "I still can't believe it's real." She muttered.
"Me neither. I'm still trying to grasp what's going on." Isaac followed her lead and offered his hand for her to hold.
Kaitlin took it, gladly, “From what we’ve been told, the people here and going to help us figure out whatever ‘power’ we have and control it,” She sighed, “I don’t believe it.”
"Yeah apparently." Isaac shrugged. He hated that he didn't know what to do in the moment or how to help her.
Kaitlin sat up and leaned on Isaac, "P-Promise me you're not going to leave me here alone…" She said quietly.
"Of course not." He whispered, leaning in close. "I love you, Kaitlin."
Kaitlin let out a breath, "I love you, too."
Isaac gently caressed her cheek and leaned in for a kiss.
Kaitlin closed her eyes filled the gap between their lips, kissing him softly.
Isaac supported her head with his right and put the other on her waist. He kissed her with all the feelings he couldn't express with words.
