Destiny looked away for a moment. "Destiny…" She finally said.
Destiny looked away for a moment. "Destiny…" She finally said.
Eric didn't trust the Siren. He picked up the spear and just held it in his hand just in case Destiny tried to do something.
"For Christ's sake. Put the goddamn spear down. I'm sure Destiny would have killed us already if she were dangerous."
She noticed the spear in Eric's hand and hissed, backing away and ducking under the water.
"She's probably playing the part," Eric said, "I don't fully trust her."
Destiny heard him say he didn't trust her, which saddened her. She turned away and swam to the deepest part of the lake.
Eric waled off the pier still holding the spear, "you're going to regret it when the Siren is eating at your flesh."
The siren sat at the bottom of the lake, arms around her tail and her head lowered. Nobody trusted her kind, and when she found two people, one trusted her. It was heartbreaking to hear one hated her.
"Not like I have much to live for anyway," Simon said wryly. "Look. Now she's sad."
"Hold on," Eric said walking back with confusion, "what do you mean 'not much to live for anyway?' What happened to you?"
"I'm just depressed." He waved his hand dismissively. "My point is, you were rude to her, and now you're being all buddy-buddy to me."
There was a slight movement in the lake as Destiny's head poked out of the water. Her eyes were red, as if she'd been crying.
Eric just sighed and told Simon, "I don't trust anyone in the beginning. Just give me time." He walked to his small shed-like house and put his tools in there.
'He'll never trust you…' A voice said in Destiny's head. She hissed loudly and clutched her head.
"I'm going to get something to eat since I never caught anything," Eric said before walking away from the lake. Why would a Siren live in a lake instead of the ocean? he thought to himself
Something seemed off about Destiny. She was holding her head with her teeth gritted. A dark aura surrounded her.
“Are you alright?” Simon asked, crouching down at the water’s edge.
(Hi CA)
The siren didn't seem to hear him. 'He'll never trust you. He'll always hate you' The voices whispered in her mind.
(sorry doctor's appt.)
"Um. . . miss?" He reached out tentatively, balancing on the edge of the dock.
Destiny whirled around to face him with a hiss. Something was wrong. Her eye whites were gone, replaced with darkness.
"That's a no," Simon said, and slowly stood up, eyes on Destiny. "Can I help you?"
She eyed him warily, slowly creeping forward.
"I'm not going to hurt you. I don't- I don't know what to do for you, but if you asked I'm sure I'd do it."
Destiny reached the edge of the pier, looking up at Simon with black and red eyes.
(My brain wanted to spell Siren as Sciren)
Eric came back and noticed the Siren steadily approaching Simon. He grabs the patty of his hamburger and threw it in front of the Siren
