They drive home, Milo turning on the radio so his brother can sing along. Sirens wail past him and he watches as they turn into a nearby neighborhood. They look at each other and Milo hits the gas, chasing after them.
(Oh! What if they have to bunk with each other?!)
(Omg….that's so effing romantic…)
Saffi heard the sirens but didn't look up. Her aunt was at work, she was alone. "This can not be happening," she muttered through sobs.
Milo tells his brother to stay in the car as he hurries out. "Hey, you okay?" He walks slowly towards the girl on the sidewalk and recognizes Saffi. He sits next to her.
She spread her fingers out a little and peeked out at him. "I'm fine," she whispered wiping off her face.
"Hey, hey. It's gonna be alright." Milo assures softly, wiping away her tears, before drawing her into a gentle hug.
"I…my…I was saving…it's ugh…" her voice trailed off and she started sobbing again.
"Easy… easy now…" he says softly, running a hand along the top of her head, combing his fingers through her hair, "Breathe…"
"I was saving money…for my sister…I..I..Everythings gone," she laid her head down on his shoulder. "I don't know what to do…"
(I feel so horrible, but yet again I don't)
(Hue… the fluffiness/ angst is real!)
He shushes her, gently rocking her back and forth, "It's gonna be okay, alright? It's going to be alright."
"And now I have nowhere to go…I'm sorry…I complain a lot," she apologized.
"You can live with me if you want." The words leave his mouth faster than he can process them.
She rubs off her face and looks at him, her whole face red from crying. "W-Wait…what did you just say?"
He takes a breath, "If you wanted, you could live with me and my little brother. My parents are on a who knows how long business trip, so we have extra rooms." He says, releasing a small pent up breath.
"You're sure?" her voice wavered with uncertainty. "I…I wouldn't want to intrude or anything."
(If you want, don't know where you would come in though…)
He nods slowly, "Yeah." He answers, smiling softly. He stands, offering her his hand.
She takes his hand. "That's the nicest thing anyone ever done for me. Thank you."

He nods, "Yeah, 'course." He gently pulls her up.
She looks back at her house and sighs. "Let's go…"
He nods, leading her to his car, "Jason, this is Saffi. She's gonna stay with us for a while, okay?" He bounces his head up and down excitedly, "Yeah okay!" He looks towards Saffi and gives her a toothy grin, "You're really pretty!"
