(HEY)
Stormy got up quickly. "Hey Lloyd… How are you feeling?" He said.
(HEY)
Stormy got up quickly. "Hey Lloyd… How are you feeling?" He said.
Darren kept his distance so Lloyd wouldn't get overwhelmed with the amount of people around him.
(HEYOOOO)
"My head feels as though an ax cleaved through it… where are we?" Lloyd didn't notice the hospital scrubs he was wearing. His wings were folded on his back, and weren't quite visible from the front.
"Um in the hospital. Dude, you blacked out." Stormy said, dragging his head over to Lloyd's bed.
"Really?" The doctor stepped forward with a flashlight, shining it in Lloyd's eyes and moving it side to side. "Hmm… as I thought. Lloyd here has a bad concussion. Do any of you how he could have gotten it?"
"Uh, yeah he got beat up." (i think??)
Darren stepped forward nervously as if he was going to say something but he clamped his mouth shut.
(Yeah, by Alek)
"When exactly did this happen? And what was done?"
"A couple days ago I think and he got kicked in the head, also stepped on. Stormy said awkwardly.
"That was… Alek, right?" Lloyd said. He suddenly became aware that his wings were exposed and pressed them tighter against his back. Maybe they won't see them…
"Yeah" Darren chimed in, "One of the football guys stomped his face with a cleat…"
"And then kicked him," Lilliana sighed.
"Hmm… he'll need to rest, and stay hydrated. How much water do you drink a day, Lloyd?" Lloyd thought for a moment. "Um, not really that much… I think I drink a cup of water with breakfast and that's about it?"
Lillian muttered, "Now I feel less bad."
"She has a point… dude you gotta drink more. No wonder you get headaches and pass out and stuff…"
"yeah."
Lillian nodded. She had been dehydrated before, it sucked.
"I dunno, I'm dehydrated so often my body's just sort of grown accustomed to it. That in addition to the concussion couldn't have been a good mix by any standards." He felt so exposed. Why couldn't he have just been allowed to wear the hoodie that concealed his wings?
The doctor suddenly made a sharp movement towards Lloyd's face, causing him to jump off of the cot and extend his wings in a defensive position. "I apologize for that Lloyd, but I thought it the best way to let your friends know about your… condition, per say."
"You're an angel," Lillian said opened mouth, "Holy shit."
Lloyd folded his wings again, looking away with a pink tint in his cheeks. They'll hate you now… you're a freak… you're not even human…
"That's awesome!" Lillian looked to him, "But why are you here?"
"Whoa dude!" Stormy said, eyes wide. "That's so cool!" He exclaimed.
Awesome? He glanced up, hesitating before speaking. "I-I was forced into battle when I was very young. I wasn't prepared, and I was captured… h-however, my captors took pity on me and set me free. On the conditions that I could never return home. I-I've been presumed dead and stuck here ever since. I live alone, and my landlords don't seem to care that I'm underage."
Stormy was speechless. An angel. My friends an angel. He thought. "That… sucks.. but that's so cool." He said, half smiling.
