"Yeah, and I'm in two," Lillian sighed. It wasn't fair, the jocks never had to worry about anything, while they had to constantly fight to keep the program running. She had even heard rumors that the school was cutting both full time band directors to part time.
"At least I can scratch Going to the principals office off my bucket list!" Darren smile suddenly returned as he laughed at his own joke.
"Yeah, I'd never have that on my bucket list. What even is a bucket list? Is that something you silly humans like to make?"
"Yeah you can," Lillian rolled her eyes.
"Alek is one step away from starting a war though, seriously, next time I might kill him!" Darren's face turned tense with anger like it had before in the class room.
"I have a trombone slide that is calling his name," Lillian cracked her knuckles.
"It's all fun and games until Lillian hits people with large chunks of metal!" Darren laughed again.
"Hitting someone with a trombone is a terrible, horrible incredibly stupid idea," Darren went on "Let's try it and see what happens…"
"Wouldn't be the first time I've done it though," Lillian told him.
"I'll remember that next time I need to beat some one up!"
(Just a roll call… Who's still here???)
(Lloyd coughs awkwardly as his suspicious question is ignored)
"Yeah, I'd never have that on my bucket list. What even is a bucket list? Is that something you silly humans like to make?"
Darren laughs awkwardly, assuming it was joke before looking around and seeing no one else was laughing.
"Lloyd, are you insinuating that your inhuman or something?"
"Like a witch?" Lillian looked at him.
"What?" It took Lloyd a few moments to realize what he had actually said. "N-No! Of course not! I was just… joking… that's what friends do, right?"
"As sweet as that would be…"
"Right…" Darren looked at his shoes to escape the awkward silence.
Lillian snapped her fingers, "Dang. We could do some Shakespeare if you were a witch."
Darren laughed louder than he should have. Suddenly he felt the weight leave his feet and wind blow through his hair before the sudden feeling of crashing into a rock hit him and he hit the ground. When he looked up he saw Alek and some of the other jock guys hovering above him. "Going to musical practice with your new pet nerds?" The guys laughed
Darren sat against the locker with a hand held over his forehead, he was defenseless now and everyone could see it.
Lillian growled at them, "What the heck is your problem!?"
Alek turned quickly, "We really doing this again…"
"No," Lillian said, "Because instead of Paige you're dealing with me."
