"No." Darren laid his head between his knees and put his hands over his neck.
"No." Darren laid his head between his knees and put his hands over his neck.
Lillian put a hand on his back, "Then what happened?"
"It's over, my life is dead ass over." Darren thought about what his father was going to do if he chose acting and music over the one thing he cared about.
"I would comfort you except you won't tell me what happened," Lillian responded giving him a hug from above.
"The big game where all the recruiters come and give you scholarships to play football in college is on the same day as the musical," Darren sniffed, "I have to choose between musical or football otherwise coach won't let me play."
"That's not good," Lillian pulled away, "Especially with your dad being, well your dad. What do you think you're going to choose? Because whatever you do I'll stand beside you."
"I don't know!" Darren was nearly shouting, "I chose football and I'll never forgive myself for giving up on my dreams. I chose music my dad will kill me!"
He dug his fingernails into his head.
Lillian rubbed his back. She wanted to laugh, who knew that Darren would end up in the same situation she was in. She said softly, "Hey it's going to be okay. Everything will work itself out."
"Will it?" Darren picked his head up and leaned back in his seat, "I need to choose…."
"It will," Lillian said, "Make your choice, and I'll figure out how to approach the situation. We could always talk to the principle and director to move the performance dates. It shouldn't be that hard."
Darren looked at Lillian hopefully. Why hadn't he thought of that? He hugged her tight.
Lillian smiled and hugged him back. She closed her eyes breathing in his scent.
(They stayed there and no one showed up for rehearsal that day… THE END!)
(THE END! lol)
"I can't do this right now." Darren said standing up.
Lillian looked at him strangely, "What do you mean?"
"Sit through rehearsal. I'm too stressed." He ran his fingers through his dark curly hair.
"Okay then," Lillian looked at her script, "Want to run lines then?"
"Sure, I guess."
"Where do you want to start then?" Lillian asked standing up.
Darren shrugged, "Where ever." He said with lack of enthusiasm.
"How about the wedding scene?" Lillian suggested, "Ya know, since it's just the two of us here right now."
"Sure"
Lillian walked up to him, "You want to start or should I?"d
