“My pleasure.” he smiled back at her as he took a piece of the calamari.
“My pleasure.” he smiled back at her as he took a piece of the calamari.
"I'm surprised I like this. "
“Really? Why surprised?” he asked.
"Well I usually don't like new things. "
Marcus nodded thoughtfully. “Huh. At all or just trying certain new things?”
"Well I talked myself into going on vacation so I guess just certain things. " she said laughing
He chuckled a little and nodded. “That's fair. Not everyone likes to try new stuff. Personally, I don't like those loop-de-loop roller coasters. It felt like there was so much pressure on my neck.” he admitted.
She looked away and smiled nervously "I've never been on one I'm to cowardice. "
“I doubt you're a coward. After all, you got on an airplane to come here.” he encouraged. “But I don't blame you about loop-de-loop roller coasters.” he chuckled.
"I did get on a plane but I also had multiple panic attacks and I almost peed myself twice. " she covered her mouth trying to hold back her laughter
Marcus snorted into his drink, feeling the alcohol burn his nose as he held back his laughter. “I… I’m sorry.” he choked out. “That… I wasn't expecting that last part.”
"I wasn't planning to say that part out loud." She said laughing
“I bet.” he nodded. “It's probably the booze. Makes a lot of people say things they don't plan to. Or do things they wouldn't normally.”
"Ah maybe… It's good though so I don't really care. " she smiled a bit as she noticed her face getting warmer she couldn't tell if it was the alcohol or if she was bushing
Marcus laughed softly and nodded. “I guess I don't either but I won't bring it back up later.” he promised.
"Thank you. " she said giggling a little
“It's no problem.” he smiled, giving a brief nod. “So, what would you like to try next?” he asked, referring to the other samples of food.
"Umm how about the lobster? "
“Good choice.” he smiled. The lobster tail was already split right down the middle, exposing the delicious white meat. “You can use either the melted butter with it or squeeze a little bit of the lemon on it.” he suggested.
"Which one would you suggest? "
“Personally, I like the lemon.” he admitted. “Adds a nice bright flavor to the meat.”
"I guess I'll try that first then.. How do I even eat this. " she sounded embarrassed just saying that but she was very confused
“Seafood must not be a popular choice in London, huh?” he chuckled, hopefully not offending her as he said that. “Really, you can just use your fork and pull out a piece.” he explained with a warm smile.
"Not really. She laughed inwardly and grabbed a piece of lobster with her fork
“If you don't mind me saying, it's a little funny when you realize that England and most of the U.K. is an island. A large island but still surrounded by water.”
"It's not really our specialty. " she said with a chuckle
“Fair enough.” he nodded, smiling at her laugh.
"I know I'm the strange girl from London who's never eaten kind of fish besides white fish. "
“I would have said “interesting”.” he hummed, watching for her reaction to the lobster.
"Everyone calls me strange I don't mind if you do. " she squeezed some of the lemon juice into the piece of lobster and popped it into her mouth
