"I can dole out punishments. Either take it back and surrender your honor, or get twenty lashes."

“You can’t give unreasonable punishments. And I have proof that you told me to do it. Didn’t she?” Caelan asked the bystanders.

"It was sarcasm, and honestly, you would be dead for talking back to me in any normal situation, on another ship." she said, knowing it to be true. Under another captain, conditions would be worse.

“Or I could backflip off this boat and you could never see me again,” she said, completely straight-faced. “Fine. I take it back. “But only in words,” she muttered under her breath, just loud enough for anyone next to her to hear.

She rolled her eyes and got up. “Heard everything, yet somehow missed my suggestion of backflippingmoff this boat.”

“Or I could backflip off this boat and you could never see me again,” she said, completely straight-faced. “Fine. I take it back. “But only in words,” she muttered under her breath, just loud enough for anyone next to her to hear.
