"He's not going to find you," Quincy insisted watching the other. Her ear, though unseen to the girl, twitched slightly as she heard the castle doors slam shut. James must've returned from his hunt already, it had been a few hours she supposed, "Few people have ever found this place unintentionally, and even if he does find you, James and I won't let him take you."
She layed back on the city silently crying. Her brother used to be a sweet caring considerate person and brother who she loved dearly she still did but he obvy didn't love her but she hoped he used to
Quincy placed a gentle hand on the girl as she spotted the tears. She was half tempted to pull the girl into a hug before she heard her brother's footsteps getting closer. She pulled away from her and began heading towards the door, "I'll be back in a moment. Please feel free to eat while I'm gone."
With that, she stepped out and closed the door moving quickly to meet up with her brother who… Was covered in bloodstains, of course. She pinched her nose and sighed, "James, the girl woke up. She doesn't know we're vampires, yet, and I would like to keep it that way."
James huffed and looked down at Quincy his more vampiric traits showing clear as day, "And why did you do that? She deserves to know who saved her life."
"She was scared to death when she woke up. I don't think she came from a very good place considering how she already wants to leave in fear of what her brother is going to do if he finds her," Quincy emphasized her last words narrowing her eyes at him.
James rolled his eyes and let out a another uncaring huff though he felt his chest twinge again remembering the state the former human had been in, "Fine, I'll change before seeing her. However, when her urges startup, you'll be caring for her."
Rebecca was scared she didn't want to be here she wanted to go home but what home did she have to go to she wished they wolf would've killed her too if killed her instead of her father she'd kill to bring her loving brothers arms but that man back there wasn't her brother he was a monster
Quincy returned to the girl and let out a slight sigh as she closed the door behind her. She pushed a smile back up and carefully approached the girl once more, "Hey, I'm back. How are you doing?"
" I have no where to go no friends no family" she sighed " why couldn't I have just died with him?" She asked herself closing her eyes " it would be so much better"
Quincy frowned as she grabbed an apple from the tray and offered it to the girl, "I'm sure you didn't die for a good reason child. As for where to go, you can stay here and we'll be your new family. If that's fine with you."
" but my brother he'll come for me sooner or later he'll find me" she said with a sigh closing her eyes " I'm all alone" she said " I'm scared and alone" she said
"You're not alone, please don't think that," Quincy told her softly. Her ear twitched as she heard her brother's light footsteps once more. He was still a bit away so she would wait until he came closer to bring him up, "And we aren't going to let your brother get to you."
Her ear twitched once more, "Speaking of brother's I believe mine should be here any moment now."
She sighed wiping her tears but her eyes remained red and puffy as she remained laying down"Will he hurt me?" She asked
"No, no of course not child," Quincy reassured though she knew James could be at times, most of the time, intimidating to others. She just hoped he chose this moment to at least pretend to be kinder than he typically was. She tried coaxing her just a little bit before he inevitably came in, "Do you want to sit up and eat?
She shook her head "No" she said placing hands under her head " I'm not Hungry" she said closing her eyes once more
Quincy frowned a little as she put the apple back on the tray, "Okay, but it will be there if you ever want it."
It was then James entered the room. He hadn't heard much of the conversation though he had heard some and figured it might be best for him to act like, he, cared. Those words pained him even though they were just thoughts. He didn't smile as he looked at the girl, his chest twingeing again, "Um, hello?" He hadn't spoken to anyone other than Quincy in a long time.
Rebecca opened her eyes to look at the man " Hello" she muttered at the tall man. She decided she wouldn't be completely rude, she sat up to look at him properly. " I didn't mean to bother you I was just running from someone" she said muttering the last two words
James blinked a moment before tilting his head slightly. Due to his enhanced hearing, he heard every word clear as day. He couldn't fight his habits and ended up crossing his arms, "You were running from someone, barefoot, bloodied, and looking like you went through some type of shedder? I couldn't leave you out alone in the woods looking like that, it was no bother."
" I have to go he'll come looking for me and I can't let him find me I'll never make it" she said using her hands to support herself as she stood up from the cott
James was semi gently as he pushed the girl back down so she was sitting back on the cot, "No you don't. Whoever he is he isn't going to find you here and even if he does, you won't be the one in danger."
" you can't hurt him please I know he's a horrible heartless loveless person but you can't hurt him he's my brother" she told James
"You just gave me three reasons to hurt him," James commented dryly. He opened his mouth to say more, but Quincy beat him to it speaking over her elder brother.
"Buuut James won't your brother as long as you stay here with us," she said knowing very well that wouldn't be the case when it came down to it that wouldn't be true.
" you don't know me I don't know you I see no reason for me to stay you very well might be a threat to my life so far wherever I've been I haven't been safe and don't take this personally I don't very well trust you and since I was a little girl I've been trained on how to identify a supernatural being so how do I know you aren't just keeping me here for my blood" she said
James' eyes flashed red for a moment before a smile pulled at his face. He couldn't remember the last time he had wanted to smile or laugh, but here this girl was bringing him to the edge of both, "If I just wanted your blood I would have drained you out in the forest where I found you. Instead, I brought you into my home and showed you hospitality. I hope you would show more respect for your 'savior.' You would be dead if I hadn't interfered."
" Maybe that would've been better would've done me a favor now I have to spend every waking moment scared of when my brother is coming for me to finish his job" she said
"And he won't do that," James told her his patience beginning to wear thin at how roundabout this girl was. He supposed it couldn't be helped though, "If he did come here, he would be doing a very stupid thing trying to enter the home of the vampire king."
She sighed, " So I just stay here and he won't get to me?" She asked looking up at him
"Correct," James nodded as he looked down at the girl. He was studying her trying to see why she was causing all these, emotions, within him.
