James stayed silent and instead gave a slight nod. If she wanted to continue she could, but he wasn't going to argue or force her.

She sighed " Im sorry" she said closing her eyes

"You have nothing to apologize for," James told her softly.

"It just feels like I should" she said softly

"I, I know it does," James admitted after a moment, "But none of the blame lays on you."

" I dragged him into those woods I kept telling him it would be shorter we'd be home sooner" she said

"You didn't know what would happen," James said in an attempt to be comforting, "There was no way you could have known."

" but it still happened why am I so stupid?" She asked

"Stupid?" James looked at her not understanding her point. Being stupid meant a lack of intelligence, but Rebecca seemed smart enough, "You're not stupid."

" then why did I lead him to those woods ?" She asked

"You told me that already, you thought it would be faster and therefore get the both of you safer sooner," James explained back to her.

" I took him into the forbidden Forrest" she said " I killed him" she said tears rolling down her cheeks

The moment the tears started was the moment James went silent. He didn't know what to say or do and hoped that Quincy would come back with that tea soon.

She wiped her tears with the bottom of her palm " S-Sorry"

"No, no it's fine, just…"' James trailed off as the door swung open revealing Quincy with a cup of tea. She looked at the crying Rebecca and then back to James.

"What did you do?" She said to James in an accusatory tone.

"Nothing?" James responded earnestly but still unsure.

Rebecca shook her head dismissing the idea and sniffled with a sigh

Quincy hummed and offered the tea to Rebecca, "Alright, but why were you crying then? If you don't mind me prying."

" I was just talking to your brother about something'' she said truthfully

"Of course," Quincy responded and looked over at James. She made the shooing gesture. He held his hands up and left the room once more.

She shook her head with a small smile " you really don't have to listen to me I appreciate you just not back handing me across the month" she said

"Oh Becca," Quincy cooed, "I'm so sorry that you had to go through that."

" it doesn't matter anymore" she said

"It does," Quincy told her softly.

She sighed rubbing her temples "Everything will be fine" she said
