Jair stood near Kana. He knew the rumors. Knew that people were talking, saying he had failed. He had. Sort of. At least Kana hadn't been killed. Although that wasn't really on him, as all he had done was get himself stabbed. Since he had been healed enough, he had thrown himself into sparring and training to get better, in his free time. If he wasn't at Kana's side, he was in the sparring grounds.
"Jair, remember how I said you could visit your mother?" She turned to him. The rumors slightly affected her, and she got mad whenever she overheard someone speak ill of Jair
Jair nodded. "I do, yes. Why?" He asked, looking over at her.
"Well. I'm fulfilling my promise. I want you to go visit your mother," She smiled sweetly at him
He blinked. "Uhm. That's…very kind of you, but…are you sure that's wise?" He asked, facing her.
She tilted her head at him. "Why wouldn't it be?"
"Because then you are either without a guard, or with one you don't know as well, and I'm worried that assassin is going to come back." Jair replied.
"Either way, it would be fine. I've been more on guard recently, and I can defend myself." She was only half lying when she said that. She could defend herself, true. But not very well. "Or hell, you could take me with you."
"Somehow, I don't think taking you with me would be a popular choice." Jair said jokingly.
She looked confused. "Why not?"
"My home country is…falling apart." Jair replied slowly. "Not a place for a queen."
Kana bit her lip and spoke in a quiet voice, "Maybe I could help…" she trailed off, thinking of ways she could assist. She looked up at him, quite determined. "You're going to visit your mother, whether I come along or not."
Jair sighed. "Kana…I have spoken to my mom about it, and she doesn't want me to come until things have calmed down. If I went, it's likely that as a man born there, with, technically, citizenship, they would force me into the army to fight."
"Oh…" Kana felt bad. Ever since Jair got hurt, she's been beating herself up over little things. She wanted to make it up to Jair. Sure, she didn't have to. But for some odd reason she felt that she had to (hmm i wonder why lol). "I'm sorry." She turned, and started to walk out of the castle.
(lol)
He nodded, and followed her. "Plus, if I were to take you there, they would cut off your head. That's what the rebellion is doing to all the nobles that they can find. Doesn't matter what country they're from." He added softly.
(Lol I'm basing his country's revolution on the French revolution XD)
(Lmao mood)
"Something needs to be done about that…" she mumbled. "Well, once it's over, you'll be visiting her whether you want to or not."
Jair nodded. "Okay." He said softly. He was quiet for a moment. "Where are you going?" He asked, still walking beside her.
(psst, do you have any suggestions on what they should do?)
(no not really. I'm tryna think of how to like…get them together as a couple or something. We could do a ball? And like Kana asks Jair to dance with her but he's hesitant about it since he's not nobility and is supposed to just be her guard? Idk just throwing ideas out there XD)
(That's a gREAT idea! Especially since I can't think of anything lol)
Kana stopped and tilted her head. "Where am I going?" She turned back around and walked back into the castle. "I'm already losing my memory…" she mumbled. "Jair, wasn't there something important we had to do today?"
(lol alright!)
Jair chuckled softly, walking beside her. "Well, there's the ball tonight." He said, looking at her. "That might be it."
Her eyes widened. "OH!" She laughed, "Thank you for being my memory as well as my guard," she paused, a feeling of dread hitting her like a train. "That's not that too long from now."
He chuckled. "You're welcome." He nodded. "Yes. You might want to consider starting to get ready."
She groaned and made her way to her bedroom. "I would honestly rather just be thrown headfirst into the sun," she sighed.
(Time skip?)
Jair laughed. "Mm. I know."
(Sure)
