(Want to time skip to the castle and the angry parental units?)
(Okie… wait what are their names)
(Okie)
(wait what are their names)
(uh idk let's say king Caspian and queen Lillian right off the top of my noggin)
(dope)
(I'll let you go ahead with that)
(okie dokie)
Queen Lillian paced in front of her husband, worry etched onto her normally calm face. "Please, dear, calm down. Just for a moment?" King Caspian said, pinching the bridge of his nose. He was worried about their daughter as well, but he just as frustrated, and his wife wasn't helping at all. Said woman only glanced at him. "How can I? This is the third time she has wandered out into the city, and this time it was because of us!" She rubbed her head, barely noticing the smudge of makeup on the back of her hand. "What if she's been hurt? Or- or kidnapped? Or found her way out of the city entirely!? She's not in the right state of mind right now, w-what if-"
"Your majesties, the Princess has been spotted at the front of the castle!"
The king and queen turned to the guard that had walked into room. "She is with Lady Georgiana and one of our knights."
Without a word, Lillian grabbed the sides of her dress and rushed out and towards the front halls, with Caspian and the guard right behind her.
Savannah stopped at the gates with Georgiana and Marcus when she saw that her parents were coming down to meet them. She kept her hood up, but her posture was still as proper as it always had been. She was glad that her face was partially covered by the hood, as it hid her tears. What do they care if I stay or go? My opinion means nothing to them. A silent tear rolled down her cheek, but she had resigned to not speak until her parents spoke to her.
Georgiana stiffened at the sight of the king and queen. They always made her nervous. Still, she was determined not to leave the princess's side. She would need support during this difficult time.
Lillian ran up to her daughter, hugging her tightly as Caspian dismissed the guard back to his post. Lillian pulled Savannah's hood back, checking her face for any injuries. "Oh, sweetie, are you okay? Where did you go? Did you talk to anyone? Did any strange men approach you?" She didn't stop for a second even as she wiped the poor girl's tears away and hugged her again. She could be angry later.
The king, on the other hand, watched silently, trying not to make his irritation obvious with other people around. "Savannah." He said, giving her a look that he knew she'd hated to see.
(I'm eating rn, so I'm gonna be slow for a bit probably)
"Yes, father? Or would you prefer I just call you 'your majesty'?" Savannah's tone sounded respectful, but there was a slight hint of bitterness laced beneath the surface. "In response to your questions, mother, as good as I can be given the circumstances, the town, yes, and yes again. Not that it matters, though."
Georgiana widened her eyes in disbelief. What was the princess doing?
Caspian narrowed his eyes, but ignored his daughter's sharp tongue and put a hand on his wife's shoulder, gently attempting to pull her back. "Let her go, dear, we need to go inside. And talk." He said. Lillian took a deep breath, or two or three, then cleared her throat. "Yes, right." She turned to Georgiana, her formal stature returning. "Thank you, Georgiana, for bringing my daughter back safely." She smiled at Savannah, kissed her forehead, and turned to head back into the castle. The king nodded to Georgiana, then followed the queen.
Georgiana curtsied politely before following quickly. She wasn't sure that she was wanted any more, but she figured that if they closed the doors on her, she could always pretend to clean them.
Savannah followed them inside silently, not even regretting what she'd said to her father. He didn't care about her feelings, so why should she care about his? She took off her hood once they went inside and smoothed her hair down with one hand.
Marcus, after being dismissed by the king, returned to the guard barracks.
(Idk what else to do with him…)
The king and queen and led the way through the halls, going up the stairs to get to the master bedroom. Lillian slowed a bit to walk beside Georgiana. "Georgiana, I would like you to stay in the room when my husband and I speak to our daughter. You have always been her best emotional support and…well, she is going to need you for the talk we are about to have." She smiled at the young lady. "That is, of course, as long as you are comfortable with that."
"Yes, of course, Your Majesty," Georgiana replied politely, glad to be able to stay with the princess.
Lillian smiled and settled for keeping Georgiana's pace. Ahead of them, Caspian was almost grumbling to himself out loud thinking of the best ways to go about the next hour or so. Savannah, as expected, was not happy about having to marry so soon. Or at all, as far as he knew. But it was expected of her, as the future ruler of their kingdom, and it somehow still baffled him why she would be so upset about that. Did she not want to rule? Did she not want a king? It was wrong of him to assume that she would, he supposed, but still.
His thoughts were interrupted by Lillian calling his name. "Sweetie, you nearly walked into the door."
Caspian blinked, realizing just how close his face was to the intricately-designed wood. He sighed and backed away to open the door for the ladies, ordering two passing guards to keep watch and make sure no one disturbed them.
Georgiana's face twitched as she saw how close the King was to the door, but she quickly masked her smile. She always kept a professional manner around the royalty.
(Imma yeet Marcus into this)
When the king order Marcus and his companion to guard the door, they quickly took up their positions. Marcus stood to the left, a serious look on his face.
“So, what are you going to say?” Savannah sat down and folded her hands in her lap. “I think we all know what’s coming, so I’ll just go ahead and say I’m not against the idea of getting married entirely. I’m upset because you’re marrying me at sixteen without even thinking about how I might feel about it. You’re forcing me into something I’m not prepared for.”
Caspian closed the door behind himself and locked it and Lillian sat next to Savannah. "I know, sweetie - goodness do I know. But…well, it's not like I need to explain it. You are our only heir, and there are certain things you need to do. Certain expectations. Choosing your future king is one of them."
Caspian stayed by the door. "You cannot avoid it, Savannah. You are the kingdom's future, our future, and you need to perform as such." He took a few steps to stand in front of them. "Sometimes, your feelings are simply irrelevant."
(Sorry. I'm back.)
Damian pulled his hair back exposing his bright blue eyes. Walking up to a table her pulled out his notepad, "What would you like Sir?" Going from table to table he finished his work for the say and decided to go home. Half way down the path to his house, a silhouette stood in front of his door. As he approached he saw it was a familiar face. "What are you doing here?" A sigh came from the small women's mouth. In her hand she held a large lance that she shouldn't be able to hold due to her size. "Do you know how long we have been searching for you?" Damian pushed past her and into his home. She followed close behind. "In one week you are supposed to meet the princess." Looking him up and down her nose scrunched in disbelief. "Margery, listen, I'm not going to get married. She definitely won't go for a guy like me." Margery grabbed Damian by the collar of his shirt and sat him in a chair. On a nearby table sat a pair of scissor. Quickly she leaned over and took them. "That doesn't matter. You are still a Prince." Damian sat there in silence as Margery cut his hair to look nice.
(Can there be like a masked ball or something?)
