"Yeah I have." I said taking my luggage to the other bed. "You seem really young to be living in an apartment like this. Care to share?" I asked with a small laugh. I didn't want to make her uncomfortable in the event that it was something bad.
Lloyd stood for a moment at the door before just walking away. He was no longer needed. He went to his room and grabbed the book again, curling up on the bed and stretching his wings a bit under his hoodie.
"This was the only place I could live," she looked at Edlin and did a small wave, " I could really use the company! "

(Because I just went before Jelleh, and there's not much I can do unless Carter comes into the room or something)
(Here comes Carter then)
Carter stood at the counter, not completely sure what to do. He opted for looking at the newspaper rather than talking to his new roommate. He leaned on the counter and started to flip through articles, before one of the headlines caught his eye.
"Criminal Mastermind Escaped From Hero League."
Carter's breath stopped. He read the article with an alarmed expression on his face. His brother, his brother, had escaped. The heroes weren't sure where he was, which only scared Carter more.
He'll come for me, Carter thought frantically, I abandoned him, he's going to try and find me.
Carter dropped the newspaper, and without even taking his coat or shoes off, started to walk towards his room. His eyes were distant; his mind was elsewhere. He stepped into his shared room and dropped onto his bed face-first, and he barried his head in his pillow.
Lloyd looked over at Carter, confused. "What? Are you having an existential crisis? Should I just… I-I dunno, do you want me to leave?"
Carter turned to him, his face red. He looked as if he were about to cry.
"If I get killed, burn my stuff." Was all he said before covering his entire body with his blanket.
"W-What? Killed? Why would you get killed? Also, why do you need your stuff burned?" Lloyd wasn't sure whether, he was scared, confused, concerned, or all of them simultaneously.
Carter huffed and poked his head out from under the covers.
"People move to different places for different reasons. Sometimes it's work, sometimes family, and other times…. To escape things. Let's just say that something that I escaped by moving here might be trying to find me. And if-when he does, I don't want people going through my stuff. So you can either keep it, or burn it."
"Er, alright." Lloyd understood that all too well. He was separated from his family, presumed dead, but he had no choice in the matter. He subconsciously shifted his wings a bit. It was a sort of habit, something that occured when he remembered his family or being allowed to just fly and be free.
Carter leaned back on his bed, his eyes gleaming with unshed tears. "All I did was change my last name and my eye color, do you know how easy it's going to be for him to find me?"
"I wish I could be found…" He mumbled to himself. Asking who 'he' was, Lloyd decided, was out of the question. It was none of his business. "What's your plan?"
"How should I know? My brother was ruthless enough when I was there, without me there's nothing holding him back. No matter where I go he'll find me, he always always does." Carter said, not completely realizing that he had said who the "he" was.
Brother… got it. I wonder how Nathaniel's doing? "Well, are you just going to stay and hope for the best or change your identity completely and go into hiding?"
"Hiding won't work. He has… Friends, friends that know every single spot in every city. They probably still have tabs on me, too. They'll know if I change my identity again. I was lucky that no one from the-" he stopped himself before he could say "hero league", because even he knew that was a little too much information. "Place I came from bothered to track me down." Carter hoped that Lloyd didn't catch his slip up.
He did, but he didn't mention it. It was clearly private information. "Well, hiding out here is probably your best bet then. Keeping your movements quiet, and rarely leaving the apartment unless absolutely necessary."
"Bye," Jelleh said to Edlin she went to the bathroom and looked in the mirror to look at her ears, she felt guilty she hadn't said anything. She used an illusion and made herself invisible to the human eyes, she needed to do something without suspicion.
(Wait hold on so do these people go to school or are they all (minus Jelleh) high school dropouts?)
(Probably, but Lloyd takes online classes. He can't risk exposing his wings in public)
