Once Vixie had reached the coastline, she looked up at Leon expectantly. I wonder how he'll perform the charm?
"When we go into the water, can you hold your breath for a second?" Leon asked as he ran into the water, his feet turning into a obsidian colored tail.
Vixie nodded and trotted into the water. She drew in a deep breath and dove beneath the waves.
Leon quickly put an air bubble around her and smiled at her, "Does it work?"
"I think so." Vixie's voice sounded a bit echoey and mysterious, but it was intelligible. She swam ahead of Leon, the water slicking back her fur and sending her forward easily.
"Hey, wait for me!" Leon yelled as she quickly caught up with her, "So, do you want to explore the ocean or the ocean floor?"
"Either is fine with me. The ocean floor is harder to reach, but less of it has been discovered. That could be interesting. A lot of the ocean itself hasn't been explored either, but we're less likely to find something new."
"Sooo, ocean floor?"
(I'm so sorry for being gone! We had a tornado watch where I am and the power was out for hours)
"Yep, sounds good." Vixie swam downwards.
(It's fine!)
"Okay then." Leon swan farther and farther down until his black tail started blending in.
Vixie's eyes were accustomed to darkness, at least while she was a fox, and she was able to see fairly well. She could feel the pressure of the water starting to bear down on her.
Leon could feel the pressure building up on him as he swan farther and farther down.
Vixie peered around in the near darkness, spotting a few flashes of color from deepwater fish. She kept swimming, feeling the pressure gradually tightening her entire body.
"Is the pressure too much?" He asked and stopped swimming.
"I can handle it, although I may have to change into a human soon. That form can take a bit more pressure than my fox form."
"Are you sure? I can make the air bubble bigger so there's less pressure on you."
"Maybe later. I'm okay for now." Vixie kept swimming downwards, keeping her eyes peeled for any creatures.
"Okay then." Leon followed her.
"Have you seen anything? I've seen a few luminescent fish, but nothing that hasn't already been discovered."
"Same here."
"Well, we better keep looking then. Keep your eyes peeled." Vixie's tail flicked out of sight behind some rocks.
"I know." He kept looking around as he went deeper.
Vixie's paws touched down on a sand bank as she wheeled about on the spot, searching for specks of light in the darkness.
Leon looked around with her.
"See anything?"
