"Obviously yes, I've been here before."
"Obviously yes, I've been here before."
"When did you first come across it? Is there a story there?"
"When my parents died in a fire, I was running around and this was the place I ran here and I always come here when I'm stressed or something." He explained as he took another bite.
"Mm…" Vixie couldn't think of anything to say. She knew 'sorry' never cut it for people who had lost loved ones. She had first hand experience with that sort of thing, so she knew.
(back, srry about that)
"Thank you, you're the first person that didn't say sorry."
Vixie nodded. "I've experienced the same thing." She said quietly. "There's nothing much you can say that actually helps, and sorry usually doesn't really cut it. The one thing I can think of that does help, however, is that I'll be here for you. If you ever need anything, don't hesitate to ask. I want to be accessible during hard times, and not withdraw myself from you when you need me the most."
"Thank you, you're the best." He kissed her on the cheek and takes another bite while watching the ocean.
Vixie smiled softly, looking out at the ocean as well. She spotted seagulls flying off into the distance, and dolphins along the horizon.
Leon soon finishes his food and watches the seagulls.
"Fascinating, the ocean is." Vixie said quietly after a bit. 95% of the world's oceans remain unexplored by humans, and 99% of the ocean floor. We can only imagine what might be down there."
"We don't have to imagine it. We can look for ourselves."
"Well, not with current technology… nothing humans have created can withstand that kind of pressure for long enough to perform a thorough search."
"Who said only humans can search the oceans? You know the world is filled with vampires, demons, sirens, mermaids, werewolves, and many other creatures right?"
"Of course I do. I've met a number of those personally, but certain creatures don't speak the languages of humans. Getting information from them would be immensely difficult, even if they decided to be compliant."
"Well I'm a siren. So, can you answer my question now? Do you want to explore the ocean with me?"
"I would, but I don't know how I could. I turn into a fox, and unfortunately, foxes aren't exactly marine creatures. I wouldn't be able to survive."
"I'll make sure you don't die, so please?"
"I would love to, I just need to know how you'd do that. The water pressure would crush me, and I can't breathe underwater."
"Easy, air bubbles."
"Air bubbles? What do you mean?"
"I'll just put an air bubble around you so you can breathe underwater and you won't be crushed by the water pressure."
"Alright. I can swim faster as a fox, so I guess I'll do that. Are we leaving now?" Vixie transformed and looked up at Leon, her tail rustling the tall grass.
"Your choice."
"Well, I haven't got any other plans." Vixie hopped down the rocks towards the ocean nimbly, landing smoothly on each rock and making quick work of it.
"Neither do I." Leon followed her towards the ocean.
