Fae stuck her tongue out at Cruz, eyes sparkling. She handed the guitar to him. “Teach me a song?”

"I can't teach you a whole song in one sitting," he grinned.
“The chorus then. Or, you could play me my song again?”, her eyes lit up. “Please?”
(Good morning!)
(Would you mind critiquing my writing and writing style? Constructive criticism appreciated:)
Sabine sat down on a bench, giggling uncontrollably.
(@Topaz your writing is amazing.)
"Your song again," he laughed, "You really liked that didn't you?"
(thank you! yours too!)
Fae nodded enthusiastically. "Are you joking? Of course!"
He smiled, "I'm flattered," Cruz crossed his ankles, "I slaved over that song."
Fae ducked her head, cheeks pink. “No, really. It— It was amazing.”
"I ah.." he tilted his head a slight more, "I can translate it for you."
Fae tilted her head, a smile growing on her face. “That would be nice.” Her Head was already ringing with the sweet notes of the song.
He shifted himself up against the wall to his feet, taking a bouncng step to his desk and retrieving a notebook paper covered in words. He handed it to her.
Fae read the words as slow as possible, turning each one over in her head and enjoying the honey sweet taste of them, whispering each phrase.
Lilies cover the land
Pink, white, and purple
The nectar flows over the grass
A sweet blanket of happiness
For the kingdom
But when it rains
When the clouds settle down
And break security
Your soul takes away the gloom
Your heart protects us, in
A fortress
A stone fortess
The flowers bow down
Their brilliant colores
In reverence of you
Your lovely features
Make the cosmos jealous
It makes me think,
Why do you love me?
My heart is full
Of passion for you
Hungry for the nectar of love
Of love, of love, the love and color
Love, love, cream blue and bright green
Love, love of the flowers
Of colors
Love
And color
For love
Fae’s eyes watered as she read the words, like a poem, a fourth time, tucking each away carefully, tenderly, in a special place in her heart. “Cruz…”, she whispered. “This is beautiful, thank you.” Her heart quivered.
He smiled awkwardly, "De nada.." he chuckled wuietly, scratching the back of his neck.
Fae read the lyrics a fifth time. "I– I love it."
"Well, I love you," he returned, saying so in a casual, but heavy breath. His words had meaning, and so much of it, no matter how "casual" he tried to come off.
Fae's head snapped up, the heavy silence crowded with unsaid words. Well, I love you. The words hung in the air like windchimes aching to be used. "I love you back. So much it hurts.", she whispered, slipping off the bed and sitting down next to him.
He scratched the top of his head, flickering his eyes to several places. The small gestures betrayed his nervousness.
Fae scooted back a little, giving him space. She ached to come closer, to press her lips against his, but she didn't. She just stayed, rooted to the spot as his chocolate eyes held her captive in their depths.
"My uh…" he inhaled, "August.. um… August's thinking about.. giving us a raise," he spoke to break the tense silence.
"That would be nice.", Fae breathed, thinking of the Babushkups, which they still needed to paint. "And it's your birthday tomorrow."
"It is? — it is," he blinked. "It is." He echoed again.
