"No, but have you ever tried to outrun an angry Kata," Zander laughed lightly." or gotten Kata angry period?"

"Eh, you have a point there. By the way, where is she? I still have to thank her for, like three times she saved me." Dani replied.

Zander thought for a moment before answering. " She got hurt fighting the giant, so Macha sent her back ahead of us, but she should be getting better now."

“Shh, Ace, it’s going to be alright, just focus one me, breath in and out, and stay alive. Can you do that for me Ace?” Tears we’re streaming down her cheeks as a nurse named Paulo gently pulled her way saying: “Ma’am, you need to leave. He’s in a very delicate situation, we’re doing everything we can.” Macha shook her head desperately. “Please, let me stay!”, she choked out, visibly struggling as Paulo held her back. “Ace!”, she screamed,, pushing past Paulo only to be wrestled back and out of the room by three others.

"Oh. Okay. Yeah, she looked pretty bad. Can you help me back to the flat?" She asked after a doctor looked into the room and gave her a quick thumbs up.

Ace threw off the covers, noticing he was shirtless. Again. Stupid Citadel. Stupid shirts. He was grateful he was at least wearing pants. He ran out of the door, wincing with every step, "Macha!" his vision started to get even more blurry than it was before and he wasn't wearing his glasses. Soon he was just running down random hallways and crashing into walls, leaving behind a trail of purple blood and very confused people who wondered why a tattooed man that was dripping blood was running around screaming about tea and how mush he needed a goddamn cheeseburger.

(This was definitely one of my most favorite paragraphs to write about Ace)

Macha ran after the delirious Ace, finally catching him and lowering him to the ground, screaming for help. “Ace.”, she said firmly as the tears ran down her deface. “Listen to me. Calm down, deep breaths, you’re in shock. Stay still and the doctors can help you.” She wiped the sweat of his brow, heart beating furiously with so much hurt and worry that she thought it was going to burst.

" Yeah, of course," Zander said helping her out of the hospital bed." Once we get there I'll help you to find that little girl we were talking about before."

"My frickin' finger is goddamn gone!" Ace stared at his stomach, "My wound reopened and honestly Macha, I just want a damn cheeseburger."

"Yeah. Thanks." She leaned on him and they walked out of the hospital wing. When they finally got to the apartment, Dani sighed. "Okay."

He was bleeding all over and Macha's face was so blurry, "Glasses?"

Zander opened the door for her, and saw half a dozen refugees inside. "Are you ready ?"

Ace stood up, ignoring all the holes in his body spurting blood and made his way back to the apartment, asking for instructions and bumping into walls and every once in a while, lying down on the floor because of too much pain. Eventually he got to the apartment and knocked on the door. Eventually.

"Yeah." Mackenzie shot off Skylar's lap and ran to Dani, hugging her waist tightly. Dani smiled. "Hey Zie-zie." She put her arm around Mackenzie's shoulders.

Zander laughed as a little a little girl hugged Dani tightly, and looked around for familiar faces.

Ace knocked impatiently, ignoring the sedatives wearing off and pain prickling through his body. The stub where his middle finger once was wiggled and Ace sighed. He wouldn't ever be able to flip anyone off with this hand anymore.

Sky smiled. "Dani! Are you all right?" She asked, Getting up.

"Ahhhh, I've been better. But I've been worse too." Dani answered Skylar.

"That's good. Where is Ace and Macha?" She said, turning to go to the kitchen.

"Still in the hospital wing, I think. I'm not sure." Dani looked at Zander. "Do you know where they are?"
