All she could do was watch. Everyone seemed to know each other. Yet she was a stranger. It was selfish to think that she could even try and make friends with them. Her eyes flicked towards everyone then back to the person she was holding down. “I hope thod works…” she murmured softly. Yes, they were strangers, but they needed help. It was the least she could do for them helping her get out of the hospital.
Dani looked at Ana. She gave her a small, friendly smile. "Ana, you are not in the way. Besides, the only reason I know these people is because I read their files. And yours. You are important too, Ana. Just relax."
Her eyes widened, shocked. How…How did this girl even know her name?! And files? What files? Who were these people? How was she connected to all this? Her mouth opened and closed as she struggled to find words to express her bewilderment. All she could muster was a weak "W-What…?"
Dani sighed. Of course she just made things worse. She always made things worse. "Look. I can explain everything. But not now. Macha, you need to heal Ace so that we can leave. Time is running out. For all I know, The Terrors could be all over the world by now. You will get your explanations as soon as we get to HQ. But for now just know that if you don't trust me now, Everyone will die." She stressed that last sentence as much as she could.
Macha quickly did as Dani instructed, her fear for her friend being the only thing stopping her from hugging Peter and Sky in relief. Remember what happened to Lenn.., her mind cautioned. You had better save this one… She tried desperately to shove the memories of Leonnard out of her head. She couldn't handle them right now, couldn't handle the memory of his soft gray eyes, couldn't possibly take the memory of his breaking voice singing tenderly to her as he died in her arms…. Macha forced back tears. No., she told herself sternly. Now is not the time.
(I hope that there is a backstory for Macha soon… Very interested in all of these people she keeps talking about, and what her before-this-story life was like. Anyone else agree?)
(* cracks knuckles* don't worry everyone, it's coming…. *laughs evilly * Oh, it's coming….)
(Macha is generally a very pent up person, which is why I waited a bit before she opens up, and not just verbally)
(Ok. I am officially scared of you, @TopazWyrmlet~ .)
(You guys, this roleplay has advanced SO MUCH since I last checked up on it! It looks amazing!! ^U^ I'd hate to spoil it by asking–yet again–to be let in, so unless you guys think you could REALLY use another character, I guess I'll stick to reading this for now. You guys are all EXCELLENT writers btw. I'm loving the character interactions. [Oh, and Skylar x Peter is cute. Wish we had more guys so that everyone else could get their chances at a ship. ;D])
(@Natasha, I'll take that as a compliment * evil-looking wink *)
(@Mish, thank you! Glad to see you're back to check on us ;). Come in whenever -it's ok if things get a little chaotic from time to time- whatever pleases you!)
Dani patted Zodiac on the snout, then she turned to Macha. "Put Ace on Zodiac." She directed. We have to go." She looked at the others. "I can carry two people. Peter, do you think you can fly?"
( @TopazWyrmlet~ Ha ha ha.)
"Yeah, of course," Peter replied, clearing out his throat to relieve a crack in his words. He held his wings somewhat over his head to provide shade across his head of slick black waves of hair.
It was then it seemed to dawn on Ana that these people had wings. Literally wings, like angels. Though that comparison would be blasphemous in her parents eyes. Her eyes shone with awe. Yet she kept herself silent. It would be rude, ridiculous even. They’d find her odd and then leave her here. Not that she would blame them. “I…I can…stay here. If you…you uh need that…” she stuttured out.
(Poor Ana!! >~< Legit want to create a character w/o any super magical powers just for Ana. Ana deserves love. XD)
"Good. But you can only fly so far. If you get tired, say so immediately." She turned to Skylar. "Keep him accountable. Please." Bia remembered the last time she said that. It hadn't helped her brother. "She looked at Peter again. "I linked Skylar to you tellepathically. Just to the feelings that concern your health. If you don't tell it to Skylar outright, she will still know. So I think it would be better to just tell her."
(Ana just feels like an awkward outsider and I love her. She’s my oldest OC actually! :D)
Peter blinked, quiet as he was told all of this. "Ah, thank you, ma'am, but.. tell her what exactly?" He checked, feeling his ears slipped up her meaning by if you don't tell her outright, she will still know. Well if that were the case emotionally- wreckage of embarrassment was sure to smack him. His eyes flickered to Ana, Skylar, and back to Bia. God, he missed his little brothers right now..
Then Dani turned to Ana. "No." She looked Ana straight in the eye. "Ana, you wouldn't be here if I was just going to leave you on the streets. I told Skylar to bring you. Stop telling yourself that you're not special. Because you are." A tear trickled down Dani's cheek. "You need to stop thinking like that. Just because you don't have superpowers doesn't mean that you are not special. I had a friend like you. She didn't think she was special, or loved, or important. She tossed her life down the drain because she thought she wasn't important. She was. Life is hard. Life is a storm. But you are a storm too. Fight back." Dani hated when people put themselves down. She hated watching people suffer. She held out her hand. "I'll take you. Have you ever flown before?"
She turned back to Peter. "She will know that you are tired, or if you are in pain. Just that. Nothing more, I promise."
Ana looked at Dani. How did they know her name. She only knew a few since they were called out by the others. Yet she never mentioned hers. There was still so many questions there. Could she read her thoughts. That was… slightly uncomfortable, yet still intriguing. She wasn’t thinking like that just because she didn’t have powers. It went much deeper than that. Well now that she thought about it she really was plain compared to everyone else. “I-…I…um…” how do you even respond to that? Ana didn’t know. Socialising wasn’t one of her strong suits. “N-No I haven’t flown before.” Best not to respond go the speech. She had no idea how. Ana nearly flinched at the hand that was extended towards her suddenly. Great… contact. Her hands were probably clammy and gross. Ana’s hand gripped Dani’s as she muttered an apology.
"Ace." a voice rang through his head. "Ace." he opened his eyes and found he was in a completely white room. No, it wasn't a room, it was nothingness. "Ace." the voice said again. Ace was stunned, no one was there with him. "Hello?" he called out. "Hello Ace, I need your help. I'm dying." the voice sounded heartbroken, Ace wanted to soothe it. It started again. "Ace, I need your help. You have something I want and I have something you want." an image appeared in front of Ace. "Grandmama!" he exclaimed. She was right there, along with his parents and friends. Ace reached out, but the image disappeared. "Ace, I can bring them back. You just need to do something for me." the voice whispered. "What do I have to do to bring them back?" Ace breathed. "Kill them. Kill the girl. Kill Macha, Skylar, Peter, Ana, and Dani." the voice said, with a brittle tone. Ace snapped out of his small trance. His village was dead. And he had to deal with with that. For now, he had to keep his friends alive. Images of Peter, Macha, and Skylar flashed through his brain. "No. I would never do that. My decision is final." Ace told the voice. "I see." the voice said and somehow Ace knew that it was gone. But then he woke up screaming. He felt pain like never before. His head screamed at him, his vision blurred red, he curled to a ball on the ground, begging for the pain to stop. Tears streamed down his face and his chest was bleeding more than ever. He tried to hold the places were his body hurt the most, but everywhere hurt the most and somehow he knew that it was the voice's fault. "JUST KILL ME NOW!" Ace screamed. He felt like his skull had been cracked open, his skin felt like it was being stabbed with thousands of dull knifes, blood had started to trickle from his mouth, and finally after what seemed like years of torture, the pain stopped. Ace slowly stood up. He noticed his friends staring. "I'm fine." he said, but he could see the disbelief on his friends faces.
