@ODragon
Draco and his protégés whipped their heads around.
Draco and his protégés whipped their heads around.
With a smirk, Skylar stepped out of the shadows of the alleyway.
(Sorry I played so many peeps. I was on a roll. Who do u wanna play?)
(Idk, we can enter when we feel someone needs to talk. I think ill stick to Kyle and a bit of Draco, but I don’t know the characters all that well, so I’ll just be free for all.)
Draco paled. Skylar was standing right before to him. He wasn’t breathing. Draco wasn’t even supposed to associate with her, “W-What is she doing here,” Draco stuttered. Gosh… His protèges were one thing but her?
Thalia stepped up next to Skylar, “She’s helping us get Rvan back,” She offered for explanation for her old friend. Skylar glanced her way.
Gregory looked back and forth from Draco to Thalia to Skylar, “Umm… JUST so you know, the last time we battled I, ahem, let you win.”
Skylar raised her eyebrows at the boy, “Sure buddy,”
Draco snapped out his shock, “You can’t come.”
Thalia looked at Draco in protest, “She’s coming. We need all the help we can get.”
“What’s gotten into you, Draco? We need the extra help.” Thalia explained.
“No.” Draco said.
(P.S. Skylar is gonna be both angry and confused by this)
Skylar frowned as she clenched her fist, “I’m coming, old man. I can use my powers to freeze and break the security door. The heat will just set off alarms. You need me,” The Fire Mentor didn’t have any reason to deny her helping them.
Draco nearly choked. He saw she was set in her eyes. And she had a point. But- But he couldn’t let her go and risk like that.
Although, if she was anything like mother she wouldn’t let him prevent her coming. Draco thought.
Nula snarled, “Well, we don’t have any reason to tru—“
“Fine, but you are not leaving my side.” Draco said through gritted teeth.
“Draco?!” Nula gasped looking at her mentor with wide eyes.
“You’re not leaving my side,” Draco repeated. He couldn’t let Skylar be caught by the Council on his watch. Her mother would never forgive him is Skylar died, “We need to go anyways. We’re already two weeks late as it is.” (Cause Rvan was caught ~two weeks ago (a bit more days on top of that) (And it took forever for Maximus to meet with Draco))

The group worked on disabling the security system, six armed guards lying unconcious, gagged, and tied up a few feet away, “Alllllllmmmooossstttt. Done,” Nula finished with the sparking wires, “The security system is down,” Nula told them.
“We need to split up. It’s the only way we’ll find him,” Skylar pointed out. Nula nodded in agreement. They went down different, darkly lit hallways accompanied only by the occasional scream. Kyle went with Thalia, Nula with Gregory, Skylar with Draco.
“I don’t know why you were so insistent that you come with me.” Skylar told Draco as she took five guards done with one ice spear.
Draco furrowed his brow and knocked three unconcious, “Your my responsibility, even more so since you aren’t my protege,” He responded and they went forward quietly. They couldn’t alert anyone. Not now, not with Skylar fighting beside him.
“But I’m your competition. Wouldn’t that make me less valuable?” Skylar whispered. She was seriously baffled by the fact he was so concerned about her. She had only spoken with Draco a few times at formal draman gathering, but she had hated him for a long time. He was the briber, the man who made the Council much more filthy than it already was. He had also saved Thalia from the fate she deserved. Skylar wasn’t sure why she hadn’t tried strangling him yet, but that would probably destroy the already fragile and shaky alliance she had formed with Thalia.
“The d-mn competition doesn’t matter right now,” Draco replied with the only way he could, and still thinking of what probably made Rvan run in the first place. (When can we write when they find Rvan? Srry, I’m excited 😆)

…
Draco and Skylar made a few more turns and checked a few more rooms. Eventually they ran into the rest of protégés. Together they entered one room they believed Rvan could be in.
Skylar put her cold force into the door. Frost appeared on the outsides, and finally, the locking mechanisms snapped and the door opened. Skylar began to go into the dark entryway, but Draco stopped her and went first. Skylar glared bullets into the back of the old man’s head, but followed anyways. Then they heard a piercing scream. Skylar winced, and prayed to Deviros that it was some stranger. It came from below. Down a poorly lit staircase. Draco whispered back at them, “Gregory, Kyle, stay and guard the way out,” Skylar heard a small whimper of relief as a response. And slowly, she, Nula, Thalia, and the fire mentor descended. They came down upon a corner, bright light coming from just around the bend. Draco leaned over to look, but Skylar snuck behind him and saw too. Humans, a good dozen, swarming around a glass chamber in the center of the room (Kinda like the one they kept Loki in on the avengers).
And inside the glass chamber, there was a chair. Rvan sat in that chair. Skylar swore her heart froze, stopping beating for a few moments. She stopped breathing too. And Skylar felt this strange, tight pain. Guilt. This was her fault he was in there. If she would've gone with him, that day… Gosh… Rvan was…
Draco froze when he saw the men, scrambling around Rvan like children in a candy store. Draco saw how Rvan was hooked up to the chair, the men probably dishing out stimulates (electric zaps) for each second that passed. And he felt his breath hitch as he felt this tight pain at the back of his throat. Guilt. This was his fault, that Rvan sat in that chair. Draco should have looked out for him better. He shouldn't have met with Sorina that night, he should have done something… That boy…
Nula, being as sharp as ever, peered between Draco and the wall. And she saw something she had never hoped to see on that boy's face. Rather, the lack of something. The lack of everything. He was empty. A shell. Something that… something that… Nula swallowed, and despite her normal pessimism, she paused in desperation, in utter hope. Something that… no one has come back from. And Nula hoped.
Thalia saw too, of course. She noticed how everyone looked around that corner, and she knew that she needed to too. So Thalia saw. And Thalia felt, for just a second, that it was coming. Just enough to control it. So Thalia felt that pure rage, and harnessed it. And then she unleashed it.
Two of the men outright melted. Two men outright became solid ice. Eight had bodies whose limbs were solidly frozen into a disfigured, melted shape. And one breath passed before the small group was around the corner and at the glass chamber. Skylar's heart was pumping so hard. She just needed to get Rvan out. That's all she would allow herself to think about right now. She saw Thalia, who had a fire-y glint in her eyes, melt a human-sized hole into the glass. The next parts happened quickly, she ran into the glass room to help her get Rvan. She barely felt how her should caught on the melted glass and burned (Skylar’s injury?), but she ran up to Rvan anyways. He didn't even seem to see her, "No. No, nonononononono," Skylar whispered repeatedly and she went at the wires hooked up to the chair with frost. Nula disabled the latches that held Rvan into the chair. He nearly fell out of the chair when he sagged down. Gosh… he was unbearably thin… Next thing Skylar knew, Draco was there, full on picking Rvan off the ground. It nearly cracked Skylar's heart when Rvan didn't even react through the whole thing. She didn't even know why. But Draco shouted at them to get out. And they ran. They met Gregory and Kyle at the exit and sprinted out from the sewers all the way to a safe house Draco had gotten years ago. They didn't stop until they were all locked in. And Rvan was sat down on a regular chair. He didn’t move. Everyone's eyes were on him. Gosh… He didn't even notice. After nearly a minute of silence, Thalia made a small, hurt noise.
Draco couldn't take it anymore. He doubted his protèges could either. Draco slowly reached out his hand to Rvan and spoke softly, "…Rvan? Rvan are you," Draco gently lower his hand to Rvan's knee, "Okay?"
Rvan felt Draco touch him. It was soft. Warm, even. It was… distant, though. So, so far away. He felt like he was in a different body, far, far away from his physical one. But he was there, trapped. He was trapped in a world that wasn't his own, in the same way, "They…” Rvan whispered hoarsely. His throat… in ribbons. His back… a scabbing slab of meat covered up by a thin layer of cotton. He could barely focus on what was directly in front of him, "T-They," Rvan stuttered out. He slowly, brought his eyes up and tried, tried d-mn hard, to look clearly. Rvan felt water start silently pouring out of his eyes as his met Skylar’s, "They took them away."
Rvan stared into her eyes, just like the way when he asked her to leave with him. But this time, starlight didn't swirl around them, the beautiful darkness not there to be with them. Because they had took them away. Rvan's hand shook as he whispered it aloud, "They took away my shadows.”
