Cade walked around to the entrance of the house and walked back inside, sitting down across from the princess and Harper.
Scarlet closed her eyes, trying to rein in her emotions and compose herself.
He nervously rubbed the top of his right arm where his small tattoo was. He'd gotten it the day his parents scolded him for not having a girl to take to the Harvest Festival, which was a night-long festival with dancing and music.
He silence was filled with uncertainty. Eventually, Scarlet cleated her throat. “So…”
Cade looked up from the ground. "Right." He tapped his fingers on the side of the chair.
(should we assume Harper left or is she gonna stay?)
(?)
“Right. Um……. what now?”
He shook his head. "I'm not sure. This is a first for me…"
“Okay.” Her stomach growled but she ignored it. “Sorry.”
"Sorry? For what?"
“For anything.”
Cade chuckled. "There's no need to be sorry. You didn't do anything wrong."
That’s not true. “At least I can accomplish that.”
He chuckled a little, unsure what to do with this.
Scarlet fell silent for a moment. After a pause, she asked: “What are your sibling’s names?”
(shoot hold on I have to find his sister's name….)
;
(Lol k)
"Ella, Ivy, and Ryan." Cade respond, counting them on his fingers.
“Who’s the oldest?”
"Me. Then Ella and Ivy, then Ryan." He explained, unsure why she asked.
“Must be nice to have siblings.”, she said wistfully.
Cade let out a small laugh. "Sometimes. Most of the time they just annoy you."
"Yeah, but would you prefer annoyance or isolation?"
He chuckled again. "Good point."
She shrugged with a small side-smile. "What are your parents like?"
