"Cabinet beneath the sink," Bastian answered. He still didn't quite believe that Halo was okay, but if he said he was he supposed he had to take his word for it
"Thanks!" Halo calls cheerfully, rummaging under the sink. He grabs the toilet paper and takes a small breath, trying to calm down. He needed to relax.
“No problem,” Bastian called back. He walked over to the closet, digging a few blankets and a pillow out before taking them into the living room
(Should this be the part where Luno makes a move or a little later?)
Halo sighs and quickly takes care of business. He washes his hands, looking in the mirror. His lavender orbs seemed… pain filled? Anxious? He couldn't place it. He takes a breath and tries to relax.
(Sure)
“Here you go,” Bastian said, setting the blankets on top of the mattress. Luno got up off the couch, smiling softly.
“Thank you, Bastian. Thank you for everything,” he said softly. Bastian just chuckled and waved him off.
“It’s nothing, really,” he said.
“But, um. There’s a reason I came to you instead of Michaelo,” the boy mumbled before looking up at Bastian. Suddenly he pressed their lips together, and Bastian’s eyes went wide in panic
Halo exits the bathroom, taking a shaky breath. He enters the living room and blinks, seeing Bastian and Luno. Of course. He clears his throat, trying his hardest not to let any emotion on his face. He felt completely shattered. His heart hurt. Despite wanting to appear calm, the tears come. He walks swiftly past them. "I wish you well." He whispers, his voice torn and broken. "Maybe he'll make you happier than I did." He slams the door behind him, and then he was running. He didn't care where. But he was running.
"Wait, Halo!" Bastian shouted after him, pushing Luno away from him before bolting out the door. "It's not-It wasn't like that! I don't care about him, I care about you!" he shouted after him. He felt tears welling in his eyes, but he kept running, ignoring the growing sting in his lungs. "I don't love him, I love you! Please-Please come back!"
Halo didn't stop running. He hurt everywhere, he couldn't breathe. He could barely function anymore. He didn't know where he was running. But he had to get away. He could hear Bastian chasing after him, but he didn't dare look back. He couldn't. Not now.
"Halo! Halo, please! Come…come back," Bastian called after him before slowly stopping. Halo didn't want him anymore. Halo wasn't coming back. And it was his fault. Why couldn't he be better? Halo had deserved so much better. A soft sob wrenched itself from his throat as he fell to his knees. "Please come back," he choked out
Halo heard the other slow and he pants, picking up his pace. Finally, he stops, falling to his knees. Tears flowed freely down his cheeks. He bites into his knuckles to stop any noises from escaping. He had felt loved, he had felt wanted. Bastain was everything to him… and he was chucked to the side like he was nothing. He knew he had nothing compared to Luno. He felt so broken. Bastain had healed him… seeing that had ripped the old wounds open again, but this time, Halo had no way of stitching them back together. He had no idea how long he had stayed in that alley way, sobbing and crying, but he knew he had to find somewhere to stay the night. Somewhere other than ho- Bastians place. But he couldn't move. His body wouldn't let him. He thought he had already gone through hell. Apparently not. Because right now… he was in hell.
Suddenly, something filled Bastian. Something needy. Something possessive. He wasn't going to loose the love of his life, not again. So he picked himself up off the ground, biting his lip to force away the tears. Halo was still within his range, he could still sense where he was. So he began to walk quickly towards the alley where he was, fists clenched tightly as he did so
Halo curled in on himself, crying quietly. He was broken. He felt like he was fading. He didn't want to be here. The was no point. Why should he be here if people only threw him away. He buries his head in his arms, shaking and sobbing. He felt used. Used and hated. What had he ever done? What did he do to deserve this? He had only loved and helped others.
Bastian arrived at the alley, eyes wide as he searched for Halo. Eventually he found him sobbing on the ground. He didn't hesitate, just scooped him up in his arms and sat down on the ground with him in his arms. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm so sorry," he repeated, over and over as he rocked him
Halo starts when he's scooped into someone's arms. He pounds on Bastians chest weakly, "L-let me go…" He sobs softly, but doesn't fight anymore. He shuts his eyes, sobbing into Bastian's chest. "Wh-why?" He sobs, clutching Bastians chest, "You have Luno… just go back to him!" He cries.
"Because he kissed me and I didn't kiss him back," Bastian choked out as he held Halo tightly to his chest. "We dated a long time ago, and it didn't even last that long. I don't love him like I…like I love you."
Halo sobs, just sitting there in a small, vulnerable ball in Bastian's lap. He hadn't cried like this since he had been abused. "I-I hate you…" He whimpers, but he didn't mean it. He loved Bastian with all his heart. He leaned up, gently kissing Bastian. "I hate you so much." He clings to Bastian, not willing to let him go.
"I hate me too," Bastian choked out, sounding like he was trying to laugh and failing miserably. He clutched Halo tightly to his chest, not letting go in the slightest. He had never felt so guilty before
Halo clings to Bastian, sobbing softly, holding the other tightly. He sobs, nuzzling into Bastians chest. He was slowly calming down.
"I'm so sorry baby, I'm so sorry you had to deal with that," Bastian murmured, unable to keep the tears he had been holding back from spilling from his eyes. He had never been good with emotion, and this was definitely showing that. "I don't want him, I want you. I'm sorry."
Halo slowly begins to calm down, hugging Bastian. He wasn't able to let go, his arms wouldn't let him. He was sos scared that he was going to lose Bastian. That this was just a dream. That he had fallen asleep in theat dark alley and this is what his mind wanted. He looks up and gently wipes away the tears from Bastians face, kissing him gently. "I-it's okay. I forgive you…" He whispers.
"I'm sorry," Bastian mumbled for the hundredth time that night. "I'm such a horrible person, I should have pulled away quicker, I should have done something," he choked out. "That's why everyone leaves me. I should have been quicker, I should have been nicer, I should have done something. I'm sorry, I'm so annoying," he muttered, forcing a chuckle to mask his obvious sadness
Halo grabs his chin, kissing him quickly to shut him up. "You talk to much." he mumbles against Bastians lips. "You're perfect the way you are." He whispers. In his eyes, despite the heartbreak and hurt he had just experienced, Bastian was perfect in his eyes.
"No I'm not," Bastian mumbled. "I hurt people. I'm not perfect. I'm terrible," he muttered. He still felt awful for letting Luno kiss him. He had just been stunned, hadn't known what to do
"I don't care about your faults Bastian." Halo whispers, placing gentle kisses along Bastains face. Why was he… why was he forgiving so quickly? Because I love him to much to let him go… He continues to kiss Bastain gently.
