(Hello! may i join?)
(Of course, hop right in!)
"I believe manners are always important." Larry was smiling, but the look in his eyes was very threatening.
"Do you need food or water? I've got plenty of both." He didn't usually trust people, but these two gave him an oddly good feeling.
"If you're thinking about killing me to take my things, it won't work. The entire building is rigged with traps that only I could safely navigate." He lowered his rake, but never took his eyes off them, either of them. They little one may be young, but in this world you can never know how dangerous someone truly is.
"You can either stay in this main room or, if you would feel safer, I can set up a room for you underground. Just keep noise to a minimum."
“We have our own food, but thank you for offering,” Destiny said curtly, tightening her grip on Lee’s hand. “We have no need to kill you, or to take your belongings. As for the rooms, Lee and I will be fine here. We’ll leave as soon as there is little danger.”
Usually the people Destiny ran into wouldn't be too polite. Naive, yes, but not too polite. They’d have openings to attack and they were less threatening. But this man, he seemed polite but there was a certain edge in his eyes. It reminded Destiny of herself when she was fifteen, when she was officially on her own.
Shaking herself out of the past, Destiny reminded herself not to make enemies out of the man. She was in his territory, and with the traps he mentioned, it would be difficult to escape if he attacked. She and Lee would have to leave as soon as possible.
(And it’s dead again)
