Lewis stood up on the table and drew out his sword while "Kashmir" played into his ears. He was glad he had carried his weapon with him this time. However, as he looked up into Eleos' gleaming aura, he realized she had no hostile intent and put away his weapon, then pulled out his earbuds.
He approached so he could better hear what she had to say, then was overcome by visions.

(I should probably go soon, so I'm just going to finish this bit up at least, since I go back to school tomorrow and won't be back until the evening, probably. I'm not sure if this is the sort of thing we were looking for with showing fears, but here it is, and I can get rid of it later if it doesn't make sense or fit in.)
Lewis was swept into a dreamlike state, not much different from his meeting with Hecate. This vision swimming before him, however, was even more vivid and real, and certainly darker. He saw several funeral pyres before him, and he knew who was underneath them: all of his friends that he swore to protect. The first one was lit, then the flames spread across all of the pyres, until it reached one on the end with a marking he recognized as a symbol of Hades. Lewis stumbled forwards, screaming for them to come back, to not leave him, even though he knew it was far too late.
Next he could hear Chiron's voice, and the old centaur was disappointed.
"Perhaps we shouldn't have sent you," he said woefully, "I don't think it was fair of anyone to think you could be responsible. You might be older than them, but you don't have powers and never will."
The vision became more vague and dizzying as Chiron's voice faded into echoes of things like, "You're not strong enough," and "You've failed your duty before. What's to say you're better now?"
Lewis ripped himself away from the images and returned to reality. He fell to his knees, gasping and starting to hyperventilate. He was shaking terribly, and the knowledge that everyone had likely just seen him break down made him feel even worse.

@Natasha

Ari ran over to Lewis, sliding onto the ground and putting a hand on his shoulder. "Hey." She said softly. "You okay?"

@Becfromthedead group

Lewis could faintly hear Ari's voice, but it was like she had said it from a distance, and he could not break free of his panicked state to say yes or no, or anything in between. He fell a little forwards onto his hands and his shoulders tensed. He was dragged in deeper as his breathing grew even more rapid and shallow. Lewis was mortified.

@Natasha

Ari positioned herself so that she was hugging Lewis tightly. "Hey. Hey. It's okay. It's okay." It was her turn to play comforter now.

@Becfromthedead group

Lewis tried to slow his breathing and calm himself, but it was hard. It was almost impossible, or at least it seemed that way to him. Then, when Ari hugged him, he found the pressure to be strangely comforting. He wasn't immediately snapped out of it, but he could feel himself perhaps not breathing quite as quickly, even though he was certainly still panicking.

@Natasha

Ari softly hummed a beautiful and quiet melody, one that her mother used to sing. She didn't dare let go of Lewis.

@Becfromthedead group

It took a few minutes, but Lewis was able to regain control of his breathing, though he was still shaking. He hid his face behind his hands, embarrassed that Ari or anyone had seen him fall apart like this.

@Natasha

"Hey. It's fine Lewis." She took his hands and pulled them out of his face. "It happens to the best of us." She said with a small smile, using her finger to lift his chin so that he was looking at her.

@Becfromthedead group

Lewis tried to fight against Ari moving his hands, but it was a weak attempt. Next thing he knew, he was looking Ari in the face with his bright amber eyes. "I-I'm sorry…" he whispered hoarsely. Lewis felt so empty and alone, even with Ari right by his side.
(I've got to go now. I should be back later tomorrow!)

@Natasha

Ari shook her head. "Don't be. You've only known me for a short time, and you've already helped me heal. Let me do the same for you. Don't fight me. I'm here for you, like you were here for me."
(I'm going to bed too. Night!)

Viva watched Lewis collapse as Eleos's voice rang out. Her friends ran towards Lewis, but Viva was frozen in dread. Mortified. She was so scared about people finding out about her "deepest and darkest fears" that she couldn't even go over to comfort Lewis. What sort of a friend was she? As if responding to her fear, Eleos said…
"I know your deepest and darkest fears. The part of you that inspire pity, I know inside and out.
Lewis, who is afraid of being powerless and useless Ari, who fears she will fail as an older sister and lose her friends. Siren, who is afraid of herself. Viva, who's afraid of her own feelings for people and will never stop blaming herself for what happened to Sam. Sienne, who is afraid that she will never be listened to. Miles, who is afraid of being forgotten, excluded, unimportant and losing his friends. Perth who is afraid of being helpless. Maze who is afraid of losing her identity."
Viva reeled, the name Sam hitting her like a blow. Blinking back tears, she watched her friends stumble as if Eleos had struck them. The little voice in Viva's head had used those same words as Eleos many times. It was as if Eleos had looked straight into Viva's soul and plucked out her most troubled thoughts. As the memories of Sam began to wash over her, Viva sobbed, but she managed to pull herself together to talk to Eleos. "I-I believe you," Viva muttered miserably. How could she not? How could anyone but the goddess of pity know that about her. Not that she deserved pity. It was her fault. Her fault. Sam was dead because of her curse.
Eleos looked at her. "I am sorry for the burden you carry Viva," she whispered. Now that Viva and the others didn't doubt her, Eleos's voice was kind. "Anyway, I did not come to upset you all. That was not my intention. I have details about the first part of your quest that you all need to hear."
Viva made her way over to the rest of her friends, hardly listening to Eleos as she talked about Charon's barge. She stood next to Miles who looked like someone had just slapped him. "Hey, you ok?" she managed to ask.

@BookAddict

(ok. so i'm not sure what the first stage of their quet should be? maybe they need a barge? cos the prophecy says something about a barge… if so, the only barge i can think of is charon's barge. so maybe they need to do him some kind of favours to get the barge. but idk. ideas anyone?)

@charkieshark

(I've kinda given up on rejoining this rp, but I've got an idea for that. Maybe he needs the characters to get some dead people who've somehow gotten past him or escaped him?)

@BookAddict

(idk. Eleos does say something about you, so maybe you can just be standing there shell shocked? like viva was?
a little confused, what does "get some dead people" mean? XD)

@charkieshark

(Like idk some people who died and escaped from the underworld somehow, since Charon’s the guy who goes across the river Styx?)

@BookAddict

(oh right charon. i thought you meant that Miles needed some dead people gotten… and please rejoin the rp! I had this entire backstory planned that was gonna impact Miles and Viva's relationship… ^cries^. ah, you can leave if you want i spose… ^sadness^)

ok so guys if you want me to change your characters "deepest and darkest fear" that's cool cos i just took a guess.
and miles i gave you an opening… you can use that to join back if you want.

@charkieshark

(okay so Miles is afraid of being excluded, left behind or forgotten, as well as losing the ones closest to him. Also, I shall use this opportunity.)
