"In a month? You can't leave! I…" I like having you here. She finished in her mind, but not aloud.
"In a month? You can't leave! I…" I like having you here. She finished in her mind, but not aloud.
"Eh, maybe more maybe less. Not sure." But if you're here I'll stick around. He cut himself off before he said it.
"But there's no way you enjoy jumping around so many schools? Don't you ever just… I dunno… want to settle down? Stay in one place for more than a month?"
"I mean, yeah, of course I do. I've made some awesome friends and then had to leave them and I hate doing that. But I don't really have a choice."
"Why not? Are you… are you in a military family? I've heard kids with parents in the army move around a lot."
He shook his head. "No, no it's not that. It's just…something personal." Yeah, try being hunted by people who want to kill you because you are the combination of God and Satan.
"Oh… alright." I shouldn't pry… if he doesn't want to tell me, then he doesn't have to. She turned her eyes back to the front, vaguely listening to the lecture.
He turned too, but he kept glancing at her out of the corner of his eye. She's really pretty. And she seems so sweet and smart. Maybe…just maybe…
Caire sighed, propping her head up on one hand. Soon enough, the class was over, and she gathered her books.
He quickly gathered his things, about to bolt out of the room when he noticed Caire again. He paused, then turned and helped her gather her books.
Caire looked up as someone started helping her. Him? "Oh! Er, thank you." She smiled softly, taking her books into her arms.
He flashed a quick smile. "Not a problem. Um, where are you going next? I have theater arts."
"Me as well. We seem to have a lot of classes together." That's good… that means I'll see more of him!
He chuckled. "I guess we do." Someone familiar. That's good. Especially since it's her.
"Well, we should go then." She started to walk out the door, heading towards her locker. She glanced back into the room before she left it. "Come on!" She said cheerfully.
He blinked a few times and quickly followed after her. "Sorry, I don't know this school too well. Don't judge me." He laughed.
"Yeah… watch out for the jocks. They're kind of rude." As she said that, a guy tripped her as she walked past. She fell to the ground, her books strewn across the floor. The guy walked off, laughing with his friends.
He knelt by her side, starting to help her up. "Are you okay? Are you hurt?" Goddamn you heart. Making me care about people so much.
Leon heard the bell ring with a sigh. He hopped off the stage watching as all the theater kids started to fill in. Time for class. The best class of the day might he add.
Caire nodded, taking his hand to get back to her feet. "Yeah…" She brushed herself off, looking over at the jocks walking away. "Like I said; avoid them at all costs. They seem to dislike me in particular, but I don't know why." She started gathering her books off the ground.
He gathered the rest and was about to hand them to her but paused. "Actually, I can carry those for you if you want."
Leon heard the bell ring with a sigh. He hopped off the stage watching as all the theater kids started to fill in. Time for class. The best class of the day might he add.
Delilah was caught in the mix, she didn't know what to do but she couldn't just leave, right?
"Really? I-I mean, thank you! That's very kind of you. Now, I think the bell's about to ring… so we'd better hurry." Caire didn't realize she was still gripping his hand as she pulled him off to the classroom.
He fought to keep the blush off his face as she dragged him to class. They walked in with only a few seconds to spare before the late bell rang.
Leon spotted Caire and waved, "Hey. What's up with you? You are never late."
