“So where do you want to go?” Delilah walked by his side happily.
"Well normally if the teacher doesn't show I just hide in the theater. No ones there and sometimes a couple of the other theater kids are there," Leon responding.
“Oo, mind if I join?”
Leon shrugged and started to walk to the theater, "Sure."
Delilah followed too happily, basically skipping behind him.
Leon walked into the theater and turned on the lights. They were alone. Great.
Delilah looked around with a smile, it had been while but the theater made her happy. Being here made her consider if her reputation was worth protecting.
Leon smiled as he sat down on the edge of the stage. He laid back and stared at the ceiling. Finally he could relax.
Lilah laid next to him, keeping her distance, she still didn't know him that well and didn't want to freak him out too much. "So how long have you been doing theater,"
"Since I could walk and talk. I got into my first major production when I was in first grade," Leon let out a happy sigh at the memory.
"That's really cool! You must be good then,"
Leon shrugged and sat up, "I like to think so."
“I’m sure you are,” she sat up with him.
Leon didn't really know what else to say. An uncomfortable silence filled the air before he asked, "So what sport do you do?"
“If cheerleading is a sport these that but also soccer,”
"Cheerleading," Leon seemed to trail off on that word, "And soccer. Cool."
Delilah nodded, “I do theater stuff out of town, no one sees me then,”
Leon let out a sigh and laid back down with his eyes closed. He knew why it wasn't in own, but he could never get out of town to do stuff. He said quietly, "That's good."
The teacher stood there for a minute before turning away and continuing her talking. "Knew it." He whispered under his breath. "They never send out the new kid." He leaned back in his chair, going through his head to see which persona he would be this time. The shy new kid? The tough bad boy? The friendly arts kid? Decisions, decisions.
"What are you thinking about?" Caire whispered after a few moments, pretending to read. The teacher carried on with her lecture about past wars and such.
"I've been the new kid a hundred times and gone through this first day of school bullshit a hundred times. No matter what I do, they never send me to the office. They never send out the new kid." He whispered back.
Caire glanced between the teacher and him. "You're playing it a bit risky… Don't you want the teachers to like you? It's so much easier to slack off a bit on work if you do. Forget your homework, they'll just be like, 'Oh, it's alright! Just bring it in whenever you can!'. No late work deductions or anything."
He chuckled. "Please. They never do that to me even when they do claim they hate me. I swear, most if not all of the female teachers I've ever had have actually had a crush on me or at least think I'm hot. It's why they let me off so easy."
Caire shrugged. "Fair enough, but you do need to work sometimes. You'd never learn anything if you never did anything."
"Oh I do learn. I take online courses. The only reason I'm here is just for show. I'll probably be gone in a month anyway. All of this is just theatrics."
