"That is really far away for someone with hurt knees," he said, smiling down at her. "Would you mind getting it?"
"That is really far away for someone with hurt knees," he said, smiling down at her. "Would you mind getting it?"
She sighed dramatically and stood back up on the bed to walk over it and jump down onto the floor. "Helpless. You go through the trouble of coming here but can't even get a box."
He gave her a devilish smile. "Ah, emotional manipulation. It works on everyone."
"It won't work forever," she grumbled, then brought the box of earrings over and handed it to Anthony, sitting down next to him.
He began sifting though it, careful to not prick himself on the pointy ends.
"Hm," he said, pulling out a small diamond stud and showing it to her. "What do you think of this?"
She tilted her head and grabbed it, then held it up by his face. "I think it suits you. I haven't worn those things in forever."
"Mind putting them in for me?" he asked, glancing down at his hands. "I do not think I trust my body at the moment."
She rolled her eyes. "You just want to be pampered again," she accused, but shifted on the bed so she was facing his one side, holding up the one earring to get it into his ear.
"Perhaps," he admitted, angling his head to make it easier for her to reach.
She tilted her head in concentration and poked her tongue out slightly as she worked the earring through the old but still present hole.
"Ow!" he said, wincing but stopping himself from jerking away. "Are you poking a new hole into my ear or something?"
"Move and I will," she threatened, "You're fine, big baby. Just a few more seconds…" she leaned closer to get a better look, her breath washing over his ear and neck before she partially held her breath.
He repressed a shutter as she finally screwed it in. "How does it look?" the prince asked.
She sat back and admired her work. "Good. You can look in the mirror if you want to see for yourself."
"It's too far away," he said, laying down on to his back. "It'll take your word for it. Is the crew going ashore today?"
"I don't know. I haven't talked to Cap yet, just went straight here after I woke up," she said, shrugged and staying sitting.
"We should get the deck cleared to I can see how our new recruits are," he explained, resting his hands on his chest. "See what needs to improve."
"You say 'we' as if you're not getting comfortable in my bed and hadn't just complained about walking two feet to get a box," she said, crossing her arms and peering down at him with an arched brow.
"Like I said," he explained, pointing a finger over at her. "Emotional manipulation. I was perfectly capable of doing it if I wanted to."
She scoffed and poked his cheek, shooing his hand away with her other hand. "You're a royal pain in the ass, you know that?"
"Oh, hush," he said, sitting up with a grunt and rubbing the top of his head. "At least I don't act like White."
She paused and tilted her head, ticking off her fingers as she silently counted. "That's… 3 times now that you've combined words today," she said, smirking.
"The fact that you have been counting is touching and concerning at the same time," he said, getting up off of the bed and turning to the door. "Are you ready to go?"
She got off the bed and came up behind him, this time slipping her arms around his waist and resting her head on his shoulder without letting herself overthink it. "There. You got your hug," she muttered.
He smiled, putting his hands over hers and leaning his head against her's. "Thank you, Lady Valhalla."
