Nina heard Adrien's question and offered him the book. "Here, maybe you can make some more sense out of it. It talks about "reapers"–I don't know if those are the same as screamers, or different somehow….but either way, Jess could be infected right now, and we don't know what that means for him."
"Alright." They took the book from her hands and opened up the journal, "She looks familiar, I think I've seen here before." They looked through the book quietly flipping through the pages, "I'll need to analyze these documents."
((If by "she" Adrien means Jess's sister, Valerie tore out the page with her picture just in case Jess didn't want anyone else to know))
"Let us know what you find out," Nina replied fretfully. "What do we do if Jess…..turns into a screamer or something? Do you think we should….I don't know, isolate him somewhere until we know one way or another?"

"Hhm, we probably should. That's our best option, I really don't want anyone else to get hurt. I could probably study him to help. I hope you and hm won't mind."

(in the journal it reads that certain types of screamers will turn you either into a full ravaging Screamer or a hybrid. (Or you can just die if not treated) They'll read about the different types and then find out theres no way Jess will be infected. I plan on later, them finding Jess's sister in the labs and they help her escape. Shes a successful hybrid meaning shes not a danger to those the doesn't want to be and will be able to fight off screamers with their own medicine basically. If that makes sense. So shes like half Screamer half not. Shell basically be able to shift but not quite. I'll explain it more when she's introduced)

She sighed, relieved that Whip N Ne Ne took the attention off of her so that she wouldn't have to talk to them. She had given up on the nickname Miss America, Ne Ne was at least similar to her name…well she thought. The situation was strange honestly, it had only been a few hours ago since they had all met each other and now they were all standing in a room, worrying about what was going to happen next. Her thoughts still lingered on the realization she had made moments ago.

Jess looked back up to him, his posture stiff and his voice rather hoarse "I'm feeling like shit okay?" He says looking away "that's my little sister on that paper. Obviously I'm just a little pissed off." He trailed off, looking at the ground, blinking thin tears away so they didnt fall down his dark cheeks
"She was used as an experiment….turned into one of these things and she could be locked up for all I know!" His voice cracked when he said those words.

Nina gave Adrien a nod. "For now, see what you can find in that notebook. Jess hasn't come back, so I'm going to go check on him." She cautiously walked off to see where he'd gone, following the sound of low voices. When she found Jess, she was surprised to see tears on his face. He must have been really scared about the infection. "Jess?" she said quietly, stepping closer. "Hey, are you okay?….."

"But there is a chance she is fine, perfectly alright and waiting for you to come get her." He responded, coming closer and putting an arm around his shoulders.
"Coming to get her" he repeated softly. Realization flooding into his mind. Right! He could go get her!
"We-" he paused when he looked up and saw Nina, quickly blinking tears away.
He knew he wasnt infected, as it didnt spread quickly in the first five minutes. He knew he was good, so the infection…well he could really care less about. But he knew he should probably tell everyone about his sister. But for now he was going to keep it a secret between him, and well whoever knew. From the sounds of it, nobody else did.
"Yeah I'm fine. Just shook" he says standing up slowly. He looked down at him and smiled before clearing his throat. "Thanks"
Nina studied Jess carefully, trying to decide how he was really doing. He still seemed pretty upset to her, but she could also sense that he might not want to talk about it at the moment.
"Okay," she said, giving him a slight smile in return. "Ready to get your leg finally patched up, then?"
"Talk more later, ok buddy?" Caelen gave a soft smile and left the room. He walked into the master bedroom and removed a small ladder from the closet and opened the attic door. Once in the attic, he opened the light and walked over to the door to the roof and opened it, pulling himself up and sitting underneath the stars.

Jess nodded at both of them before stepping into the living room and looking at everyone, taking a deep breath. The look on Valeries face….well he assumed she knew. So he went straight to her and whispered something to her, quiet enough for no one to hear but her.
“I need to talk to you once everyone breaks off if thats okay” He asked softly, swallowing a lump in his throat. He was rather nervous already. If she didnt know anything, then that would be awkward.
If she did, then he would have to keep that a secret.
She nodded her head nonchalantly as if it were a normal everyday occurrence. Valerie assumed that it was about the girl in the picture, but if it wasn't…..well she didn't really know what. She wasn't close to anyone in the group in any way shape or form and hasn't even bothered to introduce her name. It was night and she could feel the cold breeze behind her, sending shivers throughout her whole body.
