“Well, we could see (inset title of whatever movie here)?” Lucian asked. He had seem a random preview for it and thought it had looked slightly interestnig.
“Well, we could see (inset title of whatever movie here)?” Lucian asked. He had seem a random preview for it and thought it had looked slightly interestnig.
(what movie should it be?)
“Sure,” Morrigan agreed with an easy smile. “Can’t wait.”
(Uh, im trying to think of movies that are out rn lmfao)
Lucian nodded his head, having a genuinly happy smile. “Great, me too,” he hummed.
(Uh the spiderverse one, Mary Poppins 2….. Venom? Idk?)
Morrigan traced the rim of her glass with the tip of her finger, an absentminded movement. She blew a strand of dark hair out of her face, nodding in response to what he’d said.
(We could do venom ig??)
Lucian watched her movements for a moment. Was their time over already or not? He kind of hoped not.
(I haven’t watched it lol so forgive me if I’m just making stuff up as we go
I haven’t watched any of the ones I listed
Whoops)
The silence stretched on, becoming tense and unbearable. Morrigan broke it by clearing her throat. “Do you have anywhere you need to be? Or do you have more time?”
(Hey i havent either lmfaoo)
Lucian shook his head at that. “No. Mostly free, just the gym at some point,” he hummed, running his fingers through his hair.
(Rip)
Morrigan nodded, falling silent after that, as if lost in deep thought.
Lucian gave a soft sigh as he sat up a bit. “Anything else you want to talk about?”
Lucian’s voice drew her back out of her mind, almost gently, in a way. Morrigan blinked, clearing the fog from her eyes. “Sorry- I zoned out. I- I’m not the best at this, sorry. Is there anything you want to say or ask?”
“That’s okay. That’s why I though a movie date might be best,” Lucian chuckled. What caused you to scar yourself? he wanted to ask. But he shook his head instead.
“Yeah..” Morrigan rubbed the back of her neck sheepishly. “Probably should have gone out with a more social person instead of me.” But she could see a question lingering beneath his smile, one that he wasn’t asking, and for some incredibly idiotic reason, she opened her mouth to speak again. “But really— I feel bad, since you shared something personal. Ask if you have questions.” She regretted the words as soon as they were out of her mouth.
Lucian had laughed softly at that first part. “I’ve met a lot of social girls. You’re the first since Summer that I’ve been attracted to.” He paused in thought at the second bit. As much as he wanted to, he wouldn’t- for Morrigan’s sake. “I don’t have any questions. I shared that out of my own free will. I’m not going to push anything.”
Fear and something akin to satisfaction twisted together, thoroughly confusing Morrigan about how she felt on the matter of his attraction to her. She glued her eyes to the table, offering a small, relieved smile at his second statement.
Lucian had picked up on the small smile and knew he had chosen the right thing to do in that moment. It brought a faint smile to his lips as well, one of understanding. He was sure she knew exactly what he would have asked.
Morrigan glanced back up, meeting his eyes, and for a brief second, her internal conflict and confusion was written across her face. Then, it was gone again, slipping beneath the mask she was determined to keep on.
Lucian caught it. He caught that little flicker of real emotion that passed across Morrigan’s face. It wasn’t there long, but he had definitely noticed it. He was anxious to know what was going on.
Morrigan stared down at the table again, unsure what to say to him. But the silence between them got to be too much before long, and she moved to cut it. “So. Is it my turn to ask?”
(Skip or stay?)
(We can skip to the movie date. Should Lucian pick her up or would she walk?)
(She’d probably walk)
(Alright, then)
Lucian got to the movie theater about 15 minutes before it would start so he ahd time to get their tickets and such. He sat in his car for a moment, sighing before he got out and began to walk towards the entrance.
Morrigan tugged the sleeves of her black sweater down— she’d been smart enough to wear long sleeves this time— catching sight of Lucian up ahead. She ignored the twisting feeling in her stomach and hurried up to him. “Hey.”
Lucian heard someone coming over and looked over to see Morrigan. His eyes flicked to her arms very quickly before going back to her face. “Hey. Did you walk here?” He asked, arching a brow.
She nodded, offering him a smile that she wasn’t sure she didn’t mean. “Yeah, I don’t have a car. How have you been?”
Lucian frowned softly at that. “I’ve been alright,” he answered. “And it’s freezing out, I can’t believe you walked here. How about I drive you home? I’m a good driver, both hands on the wheel. And I can drop you off, don’t have to come inside,” he said.
He had been thinking about what happened on their last date the past couple days. After thinking and putting the pieces together, he had began to think that Morrigan might have been abused by someone when she was younger- possibly sexually, considering how she had freaked out by the peck on her cheek. So, he made sure to be careful with his choice of words. Both hands on the wheel- he wouldn’t try to grab her while he was driving. He would drop her off- so she wouldn’t be worried about him going up to her apartment.
