Approaching Gwen, Marla shook her head. "Come on, leave it down for once, it looks so pretty!" she protested, taking hold of the other girl's hand. "And, you beat the clock, so you get a prize of your choosing now."
Approaching Gwen, Marla shook her head. "Come on, leave it down for once, it looks so pretty!" she protested, taking hold of the other girl's hand. "And, you beat the clock, so you get a prize of your choosing now."
Gwen grinned, pressing her lips lightly against Marla’s cheek. “I choose for you to surprise me.” She grabbed Marla’s hand, lacing their fingers together.
"That's not fair," she complained, but she was clearly suppressing a grin.
“I decided to let you decide.” Gwen squeezed Marla’s hand gently, looking up at the sunlight pouring into the room.
Marla pouted, a teasing expression flitting across her features. "Mm, then I'll make you wait for it."
“I’ll look forward to it.” Gwen teased, lifting Marla’s chin up and pecking her on the lips. “What’s next in our adventures?”
"Well……" Marla trailed off for a moment. "Unfortunately, I have class in an hour and a half. But we should go somewhere for breakfast beforehand."
“Breakfast it is!” Gwen smiled, grabbing her bag. “I’m starving.”
"Know of any good breakfast places?" she asked, slinging her bag over her shoulder.
“Nope, I pretty much live at that one cafe near treetop. Ordering is scary.” Gwen’s smirk grew mischievous. “But now I have my hero girlfriend who will order things for me…” She swooned, pretending to faint.
Marla, thinking Gwen was actually about to fall, rushed to catch her, only to realize that she'd been joking. "I, ah, am very happy to be your hero girlfriend. I will order for you whenever you'd like me to."
Gwen laughed. “You really are my hero.” She started pulling Marla to the door. “There’s gotta be somewhere good we can eat!”
"Well, there's a brunch place about… fifteen minutes away from here? They make really good hash browns," she offered, linking their fingers together.
“Sounds perfect.” Gwen felt content with Marla by her side, and almost unstoppable. She walked out into the morning light with a soft smile that wouldn’t quite fade off her face.
"You look beautiful when you smile…." Marla murmured, not shying away when they walked out into the open, still holding hands.
“Totally uncalled for.” Gwen looked away, her face burning red.
"What, you'd rather I never compliment you?" Marla teased, surprised about how unafraid she was to be out in public with Gwen.
“That would be ideal. I’m okay with being a pile of garbage with a really hot girlfriend.” Gwen nudged Marla playfully with her elbow as they walked.
Marla swatted Gwen's shoulder in protest. "Hey, that's not fair! It's me that's the pile of garbage, not you!"
“You are the sexiest recycling bin around, Marla.” Gwen giggled, playfully tapping her in retaliation.

Marla almost choked on her own spit. "Pardon??"
“You heard me.” Gwen broke out into a laugh.
"Oh my god….." Marla's face was roughly the same colour as a cherry by now. "Did you just call me sexy?" She leaned over to bury her face in the crook of Gwen's neck, extremely flustered.
“You’re adorable.” Gwen wrapped her arms around Marla and hugged her.
And there they were, in the middle of a college campus, two gay girls embracing, neither of them giving a single flying—neither of them caring about what everyone else thought. Marla grinned into Gwen's shirt. "M'not adorable."
