"Thanks. Really that, means a lot." She went back to his bathroom, and came out in nothing but his shirt since it was so big. Everything down to the socks needed to be washed. "Do you have something a little more my size, and that I don't feel so…naked in?"
Pierce nodded and stood up, “Yeah let me look through my drawers.” He disappeared into his room for minute and came back out with an old shorter pair of sweats and a smaller t-shirt, “This is the smallest stuff I could find. I hope this works.”
She shrugged, and changed for like the third time in the bathroom. This shirt was thinner, and her nipples poked out. "Now if you were a girl I'd ask for a bra, but if you have a big hoodie that'll work too. Again. Thank you for…all of this. Ya don't have to do any of this." For being so short, her boobs were about a D cup, and often caused her back problems, especially when she was running across roof tops.
“I’ve got plenty of hoodies,” Pierce replied, “Here.” He tossed a purple one that said “New York” in white lettering.
She shrugged and put it on. It worked. She then sat back on his couch, and relaxed. But every time she heard a motorcycle she'd tense up a bit and look out the window.
Pierce watched Starla closely and sighed after seeing how often she tensed, “Do you want to play a game or something? You can choose what to do.”
She shrugged. "Got any video games?" She asked. She hadn't played on a while, and it'd be a nice break.
“Um yeah, not a ton but I have mainly Mario games.” Pierce replied.
"Eh." She shrugged. "Never been a big Mario fan."
“Well, anything else you want to do then?” Pierce asked Starla.
"Dunno. What do you got to do?" (Ahhh. I dunno what to dooooo)
(I dunno eitherrrrr….)
“Good question…I usually don’t have people over so I don’t have much” Pierce replied.
(Fine then.Time to add some spice) Suddenly the sound of motorcycle tires stopped, and she peeked out the window. "FUCK HE FOUND ME! God damn rapist bastard!" The sound of boots going up the stairs, and they raided through her apartment. "My comics! At least I have my bag here with me…" She heard one guy order the rest around. "Don't stop searching this building until you FIND her! I will have my Shining Light BACK into my arms! My queen. And she will rule all of our little town." Then the sound of knocking on doors, including on his.
Pierce stood and glanced at Starla, “Hide.” He said in a serious tone, “I’ll get the door and make sure they don’t find you.”
"Don't gotta tell me twice." She ran off and ducked into his room, under his bed. The man impatiently knocked harder, having heard movement.
Pierce walked calmly to the door though his heart was pounding in his chest, he opened the door and smiled, “Hello, what can I do for you?” He asked.
He held up a picture of Starla. "You seen this chick?" Other men were going through peoples apartments, forcefully searching for her. Starla on the other hand, was creeping along some windowsills, trying to get down and make a run for it.
Pierce pretended to look at the picture closely, “No…I’ve never seen her before, sorry.” He responded looking back up at the man.
The man rolled his eyes, shoved Pierce inside, and began to look in rooms and out windows. Starla by this time had dropped down a few window sills, and currently was leaping off it, and into the garbage bins below. She got out and ran off again. The men all left eventually, no signs of her found, and by the time they were on the otherside of town, Starla was back, and crawling through his window. "I'll have to leave soon, very very soon. I can't keep running like this…" She muttered to herself.
Pierce walked up to her and sighed, “Starla…I figure those people won’t stop going after you, right?” He asked.
"Probably not. But I can't fight them. I'll get killed." She sighed and laid on his bed.
He sat on the edge of it, “Uh, when you leave…can I go with you?” Pierce asked.
She looked at him. "Why?" She asked confused, glaring at him. "Keep in mind, I don't drive, and we're on foot a lot, except for getting rides from taxis, we'd be travelling by night, and that you'd have to carry everything you bring. You'd be living a poor persons life. I go days without eating."
“I don’t care, I want to help you.” Pierce replied, “I want to keep you safe.”
"Again, why? I'll be fine." She said, sitting up, looking at him confused.
