No sound followed. Jaoel eventually caved and turned to check if Firiko had followed– he had, and Jaoel hid a glad smile.
He walked quickly, skipping and whistling as he went.

Firko picked up his pace, his wings held tightly to his sides as he walked, held at just the right angle so his primaries wouldn't touch the ground.

(No, It's five minutes to 3 in the afternoon. I am currently on the bus back from the woods, and a day of hiking with a rucksack on my back, and canoeing and hiking yesterday. Both days I was up at 5:30 AM)

(Oh right I saw! Well if you're managing to sleep, then that's good. Was it fun at least? )

Firiko followed. Jaoel fought back the urge to start a conversation, knowing he'd said he would be cold, which meant quiet. He regretted the taunt all of a sudden, but proud as he was he stood by it.

(Yeah, I might nod off again, but I'm here for now..)

(That's no problem. Sleep, child, it's healthy)

Firiko studied the other's movements carefully, sensing an egotistical person, though possibly just someone who needed attention.

They got to another clearing. Jaoel stopped in his tracks, gesturing to Firiko to do the same.
Glancing around, he realised they'd taken a wrong turn. Inwardly cursing himself, he easily scaled a nearby tree to check the way above the treeline.

Firiko stopped, watching as the other turned to climb a tree and check their direction. Frowning a little he went to one tree, using it as a kickoff to fly up to the other's level. His wingbeats kicked up a lot of wind as he flew, finally getting high enough to circle around the other, revealing his huge wingspan.

A random wind almost knocked Jaoel out of the tree he stood at the top of. He looked up to see Firiko flying above him, smoothly circling the skies. Taken by surprise Jaoel let go of the branch he held onto and tumbled back to the ground, landing on his back. "Very impressive," he groaned to himself, eyes shut against the pain. This was definitely going to improve him, in Firiko's eyes.

Firiko paled when he spotted the other falling, he swooped in to attempt to catch him, but failed, instead landing near the other worriedly. "You alright?" He asked, concerned.

Jaoel sat up with a dismissive shake of his head. With bruised pride he got to his feet. "I'll be fine," he muttered, blushing deeply. "This way," he indicated, glancing at Firiko.

Firiko frowned, watching him for any sort of injury, feeling a bit guilty for scaring the other.

With a slight limp Jaoel started off in the direction he'd pointed. "It shouldn't be far." He gave up on being silent. "We'll find a steam, which we follow to the Rived Lakes," he explained.

Firiko nodded, "are you sure you're alright?" He asked, noting the other's limp.

Jaoel nodded gratefully. "I'll be fine. Thank you," he added quietly. They found the stream soon after, which brightened his mood. "So what's your world like?" he asked curiously.

"Depends on which part you're in." Said Firiko, "Me personally, my world is a mixture of untamed wild magic and the results of said power infused in the land." He sighed, "but that's only a small part, most of it is like this," he gestured all around them.

Jaoel whistled, impressed. "That sounds like a real nice place to live," he commented enviously.

"It can be dangerous," said Firiko, "Most people consider the area I live in, one of the most dangerous places."

"Why is that? The type of land, or the creatures, or something else?"
He was curious about this other world Firiko was describing. It sounded hugely different from the peaceful, domesticated lands he lived in, and that was very attractive to him.

"Well… the area I live in is dominated, and tainted, with wild magic, there are creatures like nowhere else, and the plants are both beautiful and deadly." He sighed, "Most people say It's cursed, but It's not."

Jaoel nodded in understanding. "I was constantly told I was cursed, when I was young. I managed to not let myself believe it. It isn't great when people say that," he concluded, somewhat relieved he could understand at least one thing about this man.

Firiko nodded, "I'm pretty sure my entire family is cursed" he said, "Cause we keep getting weird and crazy s&%$ happening. Like y'know, me falling through a random portal."
