"So what do pet dogs do? I've lived on the streets as long as I can remember, so I wouldn't know."
"So what do pet dogs do? I've lived on the streets as long as I can remember, so I wouldn't know."
“… I don’t know either, I never had a pet before. But i know for certain they don’t talk.”
"Yeah, I guessed that much. I think they go on walks, but I don't really need a leash. Eat, sleep…. I don't know. They don't do much, do they? I think we can enjoy ourselves more than that. Have philosophical conversations, and not to mention that adventure we may or may not be going on."
“Yep. You’re a philosophical doggo.”
"Definitely. I think about a lot of things considering it's not usually socially acceptable for me to just go around talking in public. Hey, maybe you could register me as a therapy or service dog so I could go into restaurants and stuff?"
“Therapy would make more sense, huh. I should do that. You’re smart.”
"I like to think so. And I'm very well behaved, so it would be believable. What kind of thing are you saying you have? Anxiety? PTSD? Depression? I know all of those can qualify for a therapy dog."
“… how?”
"How do I know that? I told you I listened in to conversations. I remembered it because I figured it might be helpful someday. Unless of course you're asking how to register or whatever, in which case I have no idea. I'm not even sure if you register or not, you could just put a vest on the dog and you're good to go."
“I’ll look into that. The stores I usually go to allow animals anyways.” Ruby said, blankly putting things in backpack.
"Hmm, okay. I guess you usually eat here then? Most restaurants don't allow pets, so that would make sense."
“I make meals by myself. Humans are annoying.”
"I agree." Akira stretched and took the bowl out of the bag, arranging it neatly on the floor.
“So what do you want to eat? I’m thinking sandwiches. Oh wait…. can you, do you eat sandwiches?”
"Depends what's on it I guess. Tomatoes are not good for dogs, neither are onions, avocados, or lemons. Those are the main things that I could think of being on a sandwich."
“… I’ll just give you some salami.”
"Sounds good to me. I wonder if dogs could write? Probably not… they don't have opposable thumbs." Akira started muttering to herself about random things.
Ruby looked at Akira strangely and got some salami and put some in a plate while putting some in a sandwich. She then put the bowl of salami in front of Akira.
(Akira's just voicing what all dogs are thinking. She is an insight into the canine world)
"Thanks." Akira ate the salami swiftly, licking her lips when she was done and watching Ruby.
“Your welcome.”
"So what are you thinking about the whole adventure thing? Do you want to go?"
Ruby sighed, “I don’t know… it’s just so… so… tempting.”
"Well, if you want to go, that's fine with me. I'll go with you. I may end up being helpful somehow, since I can still speak to dogs as well. Though I doubt I'd be able to just not talk for long. It's bound to come up eventually if we're travelling with these people."
“Well too bad we can’t have telepathic link or something.”
"Yeah… I mean, maybe it's possible. There's magic people around here, but I'm not sure whether that's a type of magic."
