So this girl who is mute has lived in a mental ward all her life. Now, they've decided to send her to a public school, joining for her junior year. It was the first day of school. Friends and enemies alike were reunited with glorious fanfare. The loud sounds of lockers slamming and friendly chatter filled the halls. Teachers stood outside their doors and guided lost students to their classes like shepherds herding a flock of confused sheep.

Meghan Laine sat there, watching the events unfold. Her round blue-grey eyes surveyed the front lobby. Hardly anyone noticed her, though. Maybe it was because no one knew who she was. Fair enough – She didn't know any of them either. Or maybe… Maybe it was because of Miss Tammy.

The short, blonde haired woman sat beside Meghan on a bench in the lobby. Together, they adjusted to the stirring scene around them.
"It's been a long time since I've been to high school, you know it Miss Meghan," she remarked after a bit.

"Oh you wicked, unfeeling girl!" Miss Tammy laughed.

Graye strode confidently down the hallways, the sea of people parting for her, as many people knew and liked her, so they were respectful of her. She grinned and waved to everyone, calling out names and asking simple, passing questions like, "How was your summer? Oh, how's your grandmother? Of course I'll help you with that, just talk to me after school." etc. Behind her smile and persona though, she was shaking. Something had happened the other day, and now she was afraid… But then she took a deep breath and shed her worries as she walked into her new, first-period Drama class. Now this room, she loved. Masks were scattered all over the walls, closets stuffed with clothes, old sets from last year's performances propped against the wall…. She grinned as she spotted her portrait of the kid who was last year's "Beast" from Beauty and the Beast. It was hung proudly behind the teacher's desk.
