Angelo followed close behind her, furrowing his brow as he tried to listen for more words.

Rosanna peered through a keyhole. There was a room, full of green light, and a chair with straps as if for a surgeon. "Angelo, I can't quite see what they're doing but I think it's some type of a surgery!"
"What else is going on? Hold on, let me take some notes," Angelo whispered hurriedly as he grabbed his notebook and a small pencil out of his satchel. He kneeled down next to Rosanna and raised his hand, already scribbling down what his sister had said. "Describe the room, who's in there, anything."
"There's a green light, and a chair with straps. They're putting the girl in the chair." she said.
Angelo continued to scribble everything down and looked back up at Rosanna with wide eyes, ready to hear more and write it down immediately. Maybe he would have some time to sketch the room out tomorrow. "Are they saying anything? Or is there medicine? Writing?"
"Someone, a woman I think is… is biting the girl's neck! Oh my stars, that's horrid!"
"They seem to be vampires or something." she said.
"Vampires?" Angelo repeated as he continued to scribble down every single word that Rosanna said. If they were vampires, did that mean that the rest of the school's staff were vampires as well? "What else is happening?"
"I can't see, it's gone dark. They turned off the lights."
"Shoot," Angelo muttered, leaning forward a bit to check the keyhole with Rosanna. Sadly, she was right. The whole laboratory was as dark as the corridors. "We need to head back."
"Yeah, agreed."
"Let's go then. Do you know the way?" Angelo asked softly as he nodded towards the dark corridors. There were a few torches that lit the stone walls dimly, but other than that, the halls were pitch black.
"No, I don't." she said, worried.
(Hello?)
(Sorry, let me write the response up.)
"We need to get out of here quickly. Look for some clues or the crevice we hid in," Angelo answered quickly, a pang of concern shooting through him. If they couldn't find their way out, would they end up like that girl? No, he shouldn't think like that. They have to make it out.
"Well, on the bright side they'll probably kill us instead of vampire-ize us." Rosanna said.
"True," Angelo answered as he began to walk down the corridors, glancing over his shoulder to check if Rosanna was still following. "Just check for clues. We need to make it out."
"Yeah, okay. Yes, yes, living to investigate another day. Good." she said.
"I would love to live for another day," Angelo answered, glancing over at Rosanna and trying for a reassuring smile. He continued down the halls, the only noise the sound of their shoes against the stone floors.
"Okay, stop! I remember seeing that creepy symbol by the trapdoor, let's head up!" Rosanna said, pointing at a symbol and a very obvious ladder. (And cue the "Dammit we got into Signora Francesca's office instead of back in the courtyard" moment.)
(Mk.)
"Ladies first?" Angelo answered, shifting in his spot nervously as he motioned towards the ladder. Usually, he would have gone, but with what they had seen so far, he didn't want to get caught by anyone at this school.
"Sure." she said, climbing up…. into a marble office. "Da flip?"
"What's happening, Rosie?" Angelo answered, his voice a little louder than he intended. He climbed up after her, noticing the dimly lit marble room. "It-it's Signora's…office."
"Well, we were trying to get in here in the first place." she reasoned.
"True. Quick, look around for things and I'll stand by the door." Angelo answered quickly as he moved towards the exit of the headmistress's office, peeking his head outside to check the halls. So far, they were empty.
