"World War two," she replied matter-of-fact-ly, following after.
Atiya nodded. She thought for a minute as she walked across the wooden plank, her shoes making thick noises when she neared the ship.
"So you want help for your war?" Atiya asked.
She looked at her crew, eagerly waiting for the food she had to steal money to bring them. Milo waited patiently, and so did the others on the ship, but she knew they were starving. Her supply of food on board had run out, and they were planning to travel to the future even further to restock, but she didn't know how long they could last.
"If so, maybe we'll be able to help."
Cadence listened to all of this thoughtfully. Just then, a tiny five year old girl ran up to her and jumped up into her arms. “Molly!”, Cadence exclaimed, surprised. She ruffled the little girl’s hair.
(Molly is her niece who is orphaned and lives on the ship with them. Is this okay?)
"Yes, all help would be appreciated. I'm afraid I can't release any mission details other than there is a package I must pick up in London, August 12th of 1923 and it is imperative I make it there before 9:15 that morning. I know it is an awfully obscure request, I am willing to pay a handsome fee in exchange for my safe passage to London," Jo responded, following after the Captain.
(@TopazWyrmlet yeah, that's okay, and you might want to make a character list for her if only to help you. If she's too small to help out on the ship substantially, you'd have to think of what else Cadence would have pitched to the strict Atiya to make her allow Molly on the pirate ship. Oh, we also need a cook lol. )
Atiya grinned, pouncing onto the deck - her deck- the soft rocking soothing her body. She faced her mates, all her members surrounding her. She could feel them awaiting her, something that made her fill with excitement.
"My Storms," she started. Something else a stranger might be put off by - she called her crew 'My Storms' after the ship's name - Falling Thunder. It was the crew's home, and she felt it should be treated as such - not just a place to bunk as you move from looting one ship to another. Never mind that Milo thought the name 'My Storms' was extremely tacky (coming from a boy who was a musk ox for half his life, too!). Atiya was committed to this tacky name she had come up with, and it would stay with Falling Thunder's residents until the day she died.
"My Storms," she said once again, making sure she got their full attention. "Our next mission is in 1923 London, according to a self-claimed member of the British Intelligence of World War Two. We will be participating many times off-shore, which we obviously have not trained for, but if I take this opportunity, I will ensure we receive full pay. Now, My Storms, what do you say?" she asked.
(@starrysplitdeath I was thinking Cadence rescued her from the fire that killed her parents [Molly’s], and since she’s only five Atiya let her stay out of pity after Cadence broke down completely and begged, which is unheard of for her? I get it if that’s not okay, since Cadence is a very stony person, I thought that Molly might be the only thing that could soften her up?)
A lopsided grin grew on Casence’s face and her pride swelled. “Count me in.” She saluted her Captain, bouncing Molly up and down on her knee.
"I assure you, every one of you will be paid in full for your services to the war effort," Jo responded to the excited looking crowd.
(I think that's fine, but Atiya's going to be harsh on Molly because it's a pirate life, making her train constantly and teach her how to hide in twenty-five different places on the ship, even if she had pity on Molly and Cadence. She probably explained during her recruitment that there's no guarantee of Molly's safety. Atiya is the type of person who's going to make Molly as efficient and useful as possible. Watch out - Molly might grow up to be a pirate too… :P) @TopazWyrmlet~
(Could you make Molly a character chart?)
Atiya looked around. Milo had shrugged, and Cadence and Molly seemed quite excited. Even though she kept tight control on her ship and crew, a captaining method she had been taught at a young age, and even though she was most likely going on this mission to the deadly-bomb-filled World War Two no matter what, she wanted to hear the opinions of everyone. If they weren't pumped, she would talk to them and figure out why.
Atiya tilted her head at Becca, a wondering smile on her face as she clutched the steering wheel and waited.
(Got it, thanks, and sure!)

Connell was lounging in his cabin planning out his next move when his first mate burst in. "There has been an attack! We are detouring. I think we are going to land somewhere around England 1941. That's around World War Two time." She announced. Connell thought for a bit before answering. "Stay away from major fighting areas. Luckily for us, this was the first area on the map. We can start the search here."
“Do you need me to plot a course?”, she asked her Captain, tickling Molly.
Suddenly a high-pitched wailing erupted from Jo's back pocket. She pulled a device out of pocket, disguised to look like a WW2 era compass, she clicked it open to silence the noise and a holographic message appeared in the air above it. All agents report to England Headquarters 1941. The Blitz has recommenced. The message repeated over and over. "Captain, your ship is equipped with radar technology is it not?" Jo asked, struggling to keep her cool.
(Srry I didn't realize that a question had been aimed at Becca…………………………..)
Becca gave her captain a wide smile and a thumbs up. "I'm behind you one hundred percent captain."
"Wonderful," Atiya said to Becca, smiling. WW2 was an era that not many people had ties to, so she did expect it to go smoothly.
Atiya turned to the uneasy Jo, who had a hologram up and running. When Jo asked her about radar technology, Atiya furrowed her eyebrows. "Yes for plotting the course, but… do we have radar…?" she asked, turning to Cadence. Atiya wasn't sure - a fact that stressed the perfectionist Atiya out more than she would like to admit.
"The future of your radar technology as well as the fate of your crew rests on me getting to England 1941, immediately," Jo said, getting stressed. She clicked a button on the side of the compass, a holographic map of universes emerged in the air, large enough that they could walk around and view them for all sides.
Cadence frowned suspiciously at the map, not wanting to show her childish wonder. “Yes Captain, we have a radar. I’ll go fetch it.” She set Molly down and bounded off, returning with a very heavy but easily carried metal instrument.
"Oh, that." Atiya, said, sighing with relief. "Good," she said. Atiya didn't like not having things or not being prepared.
Cadence set it down, stepping away.
Without warning, Atiya turned away from the group and marched towards the side of the ship. She pulled a string, finding and clutching on to the steering wheel as the Falling Thunder rocketed forward and rushed away from the dock.
Atiya smiled, though she knew her crew couldn't see her. As she turned back to her crew, she watched them get up from the shock of the ship's movement- Milo groaning and pushing himself into the sea and shift into a thin, long fish and swim alongside the ship - and she grinned.
"Alright, my Storms," she said, watching as the shoreline drifted away and all that was left was the pure blue ocean. "Who's ready to cause some havoc?"
Molly raised her hand first, but Cadence shushed her. “As long as we get dessert.”, she joked.
Atiya grinned at the young pirate, and then the rest, as the ship pushed away further from the mainland. It would be a while - maybe a half hour with the Falling Thunder (made from parts from the highly efficient era of the 3390s, but made to look antique - meaning the design of 2018 and other random eras from their past) - until they really reached far enough from shore. That meant in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean.
Atiya laid back on the steering wheel for only a second before finding something out of place. She darted away, fixed it, and then returned to her place.
"It is so hard when everything is perfectly in place." Atiya sighed. "I suppose we eat now. Be careful, though, because this may be the only food you'll get today." She looked at Jo, scrutinizing. "I guess we will see," she said to herself.
Becca shrugged. "Havoc? I live for reeking havoc among criminals."
“We are criminals, Becca.”
"I know………I meant like………………..people who kill innocent people…………" Becca said, knowing that she sounded ridiculous.
