@Natasha
Cameron nodded as he got in his car and drive off.
Cameron nodded as he got in his car and drive off.
(Skippy-dee!)
Madeline bee-lined to the library, trying to get inside as fast as possible. It was pouring now, and she was nearly soaked by the time she walked into the lobby of the library. She shivered slightly from the cold of being wet.
Cameron ran in behind Madeline. "Tell me again…..why we thought….that it was a good idea….to walk until it started…raining?"
"I don't know," Madeline answered with a shrug and a smile. She shivered again, wiping wet hair out of her face. "I wonder which room is the most heated…"
Cameron nodded. "So do I……I guess we'll just have to wonder around until we find it?"
"Yeah… Let's check over by the mysteries, first," Madeline suggested, starting in the direction of the genre.
Cameron nodded, silently following her.
Once they reached the section of mystery books, Madeline started searching for one to read. It was still a bit cold, but it was certainly warmer than it was by the entrance.
"Do you think there's a warmer space, or should we stay here?" she asked, pulling a book out and turning back to Cam.
"Let's stay here…." Cameron answered distractedly as he fingered through a book.
"Oh, what'd you find?" Madeline asked, peeking over her friend's shoulder at the book he was flipping through.
"Truth Be Told by March Selona…." He trailed off.
(Idk I just made up a completely random thing that book doesn't exist 😂)
(Lol. Well, it sounds interesting! XD)
Madeline nodded and looked around for a chair to sit in, spotting a table in the center of the room she made her way over and sat down in it.
"You know what could be a fun game?" she asked.
"Mm? What?" Cameron asked as he sat down beside her with his book.
"Well, I had two ideas," Madeline started, setting her book on the table in front of her. "One, we could both take turns reading a chapter of our books to each other. Or, two, we could read our own books to ourselves and see who finds out 'who dun it' first."
"They both sound interesting, let's try the first one."
Madeline nodded, picking her book back up and opening to the first chapter. "Do you want to start, or should I?"
"You go ahead and start." Cameron answered.
"All right," Madeline said before she started to read the chapter aloud.
(Blah-blah-blah…
Aaaaaand…
Skip.)
(Lol)
Cameron listened intently, enthralled in Madeline's story.
"'They tossed body over the side of the boat, and it splashed into the choppy waves, never to be seen again,'" Madeline read the last line from the chapter, then looked up at Cameron. "Gosh, that was left on a cliffhanger."
Cameron nodded in agreement. "Well, my turn now."
"That it is," Madeline agreed with a small smile and a nod. She shifted in her seat to get a bit more comfortable, then put her elbows on the table and her head in her hands.
Cameron nodded as he opened the book. "Sierra Wilson raced down the streets of Dawson Creek. If anyone saw her running down the streets at that moment, they would think she was just an ordinary teen going about her relaxing summer day. But Sierra was no ordinary teenager, and she was in a mission…… " Cameron began.
(Truth be told that's the beginning paragraph from a mystery book I'm brainstorming and really want to write
I love mysteries…..)
(Gonna go visit a friend, so I won't be on for a while.
Cool! I've always wanted to do a mystery.)
Madeline sat and listened, her eyes trained on something in the distance as she was immersed in the story.
