"Yeah, thanks, Lucas," Daisy called after him. She took a deep breath before stepping inside, and she looked around as she took in her surroundings.
"Yeah, thanks, Lucas," Daisy called after him. She took a deep breath before stepping inside, and she looked around as she took in her surroundings.
Lucas smiled at his co-workers, even though they all pretty much hated each other- Espesily on April fools- and went straight to the back for his name tag.
(*especially
I'm going to time-skip to after her interview.)
The manager stood up with a smile and reached her hand out to Daisy, who took it as she stood as well.
"Thank you so much for taking the time to meet with me," Daisy said with a polite smile, shaking the manager's hand.
"It was a pleasure. I'll be in contact with you soon about whether or not you got the job," the woman declared, letting go of Daisy's hand after they'd shaken them.
(Oops sorry.)
It had been a slow day so far, so Lucas decided to text Daisy and ask of she got the job.
'did they hire you on the spot? -Lucas'
(It's okay.)
Daisy had just picked up her coffee from the front of the cafe when she got the text. After sitting down, she glanced at it and smiled.
DAISY: Not quite. They'll let me know soon, though.
'darn, well I know you'll get the job. Wanna come over to my shady pizza joint across the way? I promise we don't have rats. Lol. -Lucas'
Daisy chuckled at the text and sipped on her coffee.
DAISY: Sure, lol. I'll be there in a sec.
Lucas smiled down at his phone before shoving it back in his pocket, and praticly faceplanting into the counter while he waited for Daisy to get there.
Daisy pocketed her own phone and stood. She nodded at the barista as she walked out, then made her way to the pizza place. After making her way there, she stepped inside and smiled at Lucas.
"Hey," she greeted him.
Lucas looked up and grinned, "howdy. So tell me all the wonders of what the out side world looks like. It feels like its been foooreeverrr." he stressed the last part, even though it hadn't been an hour yet.
"You haven't even been here that long," Daisy chuckled. "It's boring out there, trust me."
"Yes but its also boring in here. Do you know how many flus I've counted? None, but that's not the point." Lucas laughed.
"Hey, at least that means it's clean in here," Daisy laughed.
"Oh no, there are flys. I just haven't counted them yet. Would you like me to? I'd even name them if you want." Lucas was joking, but he was considering it.
"Haha," Daisy laughed sarcastically. "Very funny. No, please don't name the flies."
"To late, that one over there," he pointed to a flying black dot, "is bob."
"What? Why? No naming the flies!" Daisy laughed.
"Oh no, I'm totally naming them all. In fact I'll name my favorite one after you." Lucas laughed and leaned on the counter.
"Wow, thanks. Now I know I'm a pest," Daisy chuckled, shaking her head.
"Oh come on, you're not a pest. You're just a buzz kill." Lucas wiggled his eye brows jokingly.
Daisy snorted and rolled her eyes. "Gee, thanks… I knew I had great friends growing up…"
"Awe, thanks. I am a great friend." Lucas grinned. "But no. I would never name an annoying bug after you."
"I know, Lucas," Daisy chuckled. "You're too nice to do that."
"Nice? Oh come on, I'm totally mean." Lucas' grin widdened.
"Well, I mean, I didn't want to say that, but…" Daisy trailed off teasingly, grinning at him.
