“No, you’re not. They just aren’t drowning in stars, like we are,” Griff said, nudging Simon’s shoulder in a brotherly way.

Simon nodded, trying to think of things that rhymed with stars, things related to stars…
"Yeah, I guess." He said. "I drowned in the ocean when I was a kid." Simon smiled and chuckled at the memory.
“Yeah, well, that’s different,” Griff laughed quietly. “Drowning in stars means that its gorgeous where you are, and other people think you’re crazy for being able to withstand the lack of what they call oxygen and we call a burden.”
“I heard stars and oxygen.” Steller piped up, bursting into a conversation uninvited.

Simon's eyes widened. "C-could you repeat that?" He asked, frantically grabbing for his notebook and pencil.
Griff laughed and said it again. “It’s judt what I’ve always thought,” he added simply.

Simon quickly wrote down what Griff said, muttering to himself. "Mhmmm," He exhaled a breath he was holding. "Awesome." He whispered quietly as he stared at what he wrote.
“You know the atmosphere could actually hypothetically crush us.”
“Not the artists,” Griff smiled. “We’re invincible.”
“Actually if the air inside of your body were to be drained right now, you’d be crushed by the atmosphere.”
Simon flinched when he noticed the other person at the table. Be cool. He reminded himself.
"Keyword: hypothetically," Simon added. "And yes, we are invincible."
“Only if the air wasn’t drained.” Steller insisted.
“Okay well we’re dreamers not scientists,” Griff mumbled.
Steller laughed, “I know.”

“Are you? A dreamer, I mean,” Griff asked.
(Night night.)
“Me?” Steller asked, she always double asked everything just in case.
"Yeah." Simon shrank into his hoodie. "You should live life not analyze it."
(sigh this always happens, gn yall)
“That’s a nice saying to go by.”
Simon realized what he had blurted out and opened his notebook again. "Live life…analyze…hmm." He muttered while writing it down.
“Do you write all the good and inspirational sentences you hear in your notebook?”
Simon nodded and pulled his backpack onto his lap, he reached in and grabbed a huge stack of notebooks. "Yep, I've got more than seven."
