Morgan abruptly came back to the surface of her mind. She pulled away from Kydah and took several steps away, she'd been craving touch and now it was too much. She hugged herself, her gloved hands squeezing her sides. "Thomas?" she asked warily, realizing it was indeed him who was standing with them.
Thomas took a step forward, though not too close as to make her feel uncomfortable, "Are you okay?" He asked again, "I felt the Tower shake," his voice was soft, soothing
Wait… Fenris, they're in a secret training bunker that no one but Judah, Morgan, and now Thomas know about.//
oh shoot sorry imma delete that post then//
Morgan blinked at him slowly, trying to process what he had said. The emotional and power release that had just taken place had taken a lot out of her mentally. She shook her head to clear it and then gave him her classic Stark smile. "Oh! You know…just a normal day! Average power release and what not." She said, bushing her hair out of her face. Her hands were shaking terribly and she tucked them behind her back so he wouldn't see. "I'm fine." she chirped, her apparent casual nature, not reaching her eyes.
Thomas frowned, noticing the small things. He had been trained to be observant, noticing everything. He pressed his lips together, grappling with himself whether or not to respond. He wanted to gather her up his arms and just hold her, comfort her, but he was honestly confused on what was going on between her and Kydah. His blue gaze kept flicking to the armored Avenger behind him, not sure what to think
Jasper sat on the couch and rested. He knew what he put Morgan through wasn't right, and that he should apologize, but right now, he needed to rest. "Chesh? Owen?" he called out to the empty room, hoping that one of them was around.
Chesh made her way into the living room. 'Training' seemed to be done so she made her way back in. She heard someone call her name and looked to see Jasper. "Yes?" She said making her way over to the couch.
Morgan, shifted a tad bit uncomfortable with the way Thomas was staring at her. It was like he was the mind reader and could right through her charade. She reached forward, with a smile that still didn't reach her eyes, and grasped his hand. She suddenly wished that she could touch him without her gloves on, skin to skin. He just looked so warm.
"I'm okay. You more than anyone know how this gets." They both were veteran Avengers, being here longer than the others close to their age. Not to mention that he had been the one to witness her going catatonic the first time her powers got overwhelming. She glanced to Kydah, begging with her eyes for her not to say a damn word. Sh doubted her friend would listen though.
Owen opened his door and looked out of his room. He hoped who ever called wasn't mad at him or looking for him.
Thomas squeezed her hand lightly, then pulled her close into a hug, feeling the way her body trembled in his hands. He just held her, comforting her silently. He was suddenly hyperaware of every place where their bodies touched. He tried to push those thoughts out of his mind, knowing she was a mind reader.
Morgan was frozen, she never thought he would feel safe enough to touch her this way. Her oldest friend. She recalled how she used to chase him around with her bare hands outstretched, teasing and screaming how she would suck the life out of him. Their favorite game as children. Jesus…when was the last time I touched him when we weren't fighting? She had never really noticed, since the stronger her powers got the more she pushed everyone away… She buried her head into his chest, wrapping her arms around him. She was careful to stay slightly apart from him though. God knew she still didn't need wings.
The rumble of his thoughts grew louder as they touched, and she jerked away, blushing wildly. She wanted to cling to him forever. She cleared her throat, "Well. That's enough emotion for today, yea?" She emulated her father's bored tone perfectly.
A light dusting of scarlet formed on Thomas' cheek and he scratched the back of his head, chuckling nervously, "Yeah, I guess…" he said, clearing his throat and looking at his shoes
"Fabulous. I'll be in my room….Drinking my father's scotch." She brushed past both of her friends towards the elevator. She was pushing them away. Again. It was just better this way….right? What's life when you can't be around or touch those you love?
She paused at Thomas' side and whispered a fervent "Thank you…" conveying all the emotion she wouldn't say in those two words.
Owen went back to the corner of his room and picked up a book. He did't care that he didn't even shut his door, he could do it later.
(owen is a great listener, because he won't interrupt you with talking. He can't he is psychologically mute)
Thomas watched her go, his eyes worried and sad. He let out a breath and headed for the elevator after she left, pressing a random button, deep in thought
Morgan barreled through the higher floors of the tower, stumbling and running into practically everything. She burst into her father's lab, not noticing the tears that stained her cheeks. Tony was gone on a mission, but just being here in a room that oozed his energy calmed her slightly. "UGH!" she yelled. She'd hadn't felt this confused about her own emotions in years.
She sat down in front of a half built suit and started tinkering, ignoring everything else.
Hey do you want me to be Tony? I loooove rping as him?//
"oh, yea I was just wondering if you were doing anything, if you are, I won't get in the way, just bored." He sighed and pulled his mask over his face, staring at the ceiling "by the way did you need something? you called my name during the fight. Is something wrong?"
"Oh! Well you just kinda left and I wanted to know if you were alright." She said rubbing the back of her neck.
Owen put down his book then walked downstairs and noticed Jasper and Chesh in the room. He smiled a bit and waved.
Tony returned from a business meeting and walked in to see Morgan, "Your not improving on my tech are you?" He joked with an eyebrow raised and his signature half-smirk
Morgan jumped, flipping up the goggles she was wearing and handing off the torch to DUM-E. "Of course I am. This is going to be my suit, anyway. You've added way too much armor again. How am I supposed to move?" She plopped her hands on her fists, glaring into eyes that were exactly like hers.
Tony sighed, "More armor is more protection" he reminded her, "Don't you remove it, Mor" he said, peering at her work, "Huh, never thought about that," he muttered about one of her improvements, more to himself than anything else
