Steve's breaths were quiet and steady through his dreamless sleep, keeping close to Bucky as the hours went by and the light of the morning sun peeking through the curtains brought forth a new day.
Steve's breaths were quiet and steady through his dreamless sleep, keeping close to Bucky as the hours went by and the light of the morning sun peeking through the curtains brought forth a new day.
Bucky stayed asleep, eventually relaxing just a little bit, but staying pressed up against Steve for comfort.
Steve shifted as the room grew lighter, moving the arm around Bucky and fighting to stay asleep as the world outside grew louder, with the muffled sounds of cars and busses circling the block.
Bucky took a deep breath, still sleeping, but beginning to wake up a little bit. He was still curled up with Steve.
Steve could feel his dream start to slip away as the minutes went by, slowly coming out of his rest as he let out a long sigh, thinking of nothing but the softness of the bed and the warmth of the body next to him.
Bucky was still curled up close to Steve, holding onto him, though not quite dreaming. Just drifting, mostly asleep but slightly awake.
Steve sighed as he slowly blinked his eyes open, missing the heavy comfort of sleep and trying to ignore the hazy light of the room as he sleepily glanced down at Bucky's arm around him. With a tired smile, he reachd to tuck away a few locks of dark hair that had fallen in Bucky's face, half-hoping that he wouldn't wake him.
Bucky shifted faintly, but did not awaken, just lay curled against Steve. His brown hair was fanned out across the pillow in tangled locks.
Steve's mouth curved into a faint smile at Bucky's peaceful expression, debating between not moving and letting him sleep or attempting to get out of bed without waking him. After a quiet moment, he figured that he might as well make breakfast for them, ever so slowly slipping out from under Bucky's arm and trying his best to stay quiet.
Bucky shifted again as Steve's weight left the bed, curling into himself a little bit once he was alone on the mattress.
Steve slowly made his way to the door, putting on some slippers and glancing back at Bucky before carefully moving out into the hall, taking extra care not to close the door too loudly and let him sleep. He looked out of the tall windows as he made his way to the kitchen, smiling at the softened colour of the sky and heading to the fridge to start making their breakfast.
Bucky kept sleeping, laying on Steve's bed. He eventually started to wake up, shifting and moving around a little bit.
Steve searched through the fridge for some bacon and eggs, putting a few pieces of bread in the toaster and taking his time with preparing their breakfast, humming some tune from his childhood that he couldn't name.
Bucky got up, heading towards the kitchen. He looked tired, his hair hanging into his face a little bit and his eyes looking tired.
Steve quietly hummed as he cooked their breakfast, turning over the bacon and minding the scrambled eggs in the other pan as he considered making coffee. Movement in the corner of his eye caught his attention, and his mouth curved into a smile as Bucky tiredly walked into the kitchen. "Oh hey. Good morning," He said, turning off the stove before he went to greet him.
Bucky gave him a faint smile. "Good morning." he greeted quietly, coming over to Steve and sliding his arms around the other man, leaning against him a little.
Steve smiled, sighing as he wrapped his arms around him in return. "We slept in," He softly said, running a slow hand through Bucky's hair, "Did you sleep okay, after?"
Bucky nodded a little bit, then shrugged. "I…I don't know. I slept alright." he replied quietly, closing his eyes and letting out a quiet breath.
Steve nodded, looking at Bucky with a soft smile, his eyebrows faintly pulled together. "Hmm. That must've been some nightmare," He said, thinking back to Bucky's trembling frame and tearful eyes just hours before, "You wanna talk about it?"
Bucky stiffened a little, shaking his head slightly. "I…" he trailed off, swallowing faintly. "Not really." he opened his eyes again, looking up at Steve.
"Okay," Steve softly replied, nodding as he met Bucky's gaze and hoping that the dream hadn't been as bad as it seemed, "Yeah…that's okay." He turned to glance at the stove, offering him a gentle smile, "I, um, made breakfast."
Bucky blinked, and nodded a little. "Oh. Alright. Uhm…thanks, Steve." He said softly.
Bucky blinked, and nodded a little. "Oh. Alright. Uhm…thanks, Steve." He said softly.
"Yeah, no problem. Do you wanna—" Steve said, nodding over at the food keeping warm on the stove. He smiled, happy that he could make such a wholesome breakfast for them and faintly remembering how plain and meagre meals used to be, all those years before. "If you're hungry?"
Bucky nodded a little bit. "I…yeah." he said, pulling away from Steve and grabbing two plates, holding one out to the blonde man.
