She smiled down at the two kids with white hair

Lysander smiled softly at the sight before walking over to Cole and Laura-Beth.

“Mmm…” Adrian mumbled looking up at her and gripping a strand of her hair.

She looked over at Adrian and smiled

“Ma… Mama.” Adrian finally managed to get the word out.

Her eyes widened before she smiled kissing all over his face

Adrian squealed at the kisses. “Mama!” he said again, smiling.

Lysander had just walked over, holding Cole in one arm and Laura-Beth’s hand in his free one. “Did he just…” he trailed off softly with wide eyes.

She nodded turning to look at him

Lysander smiled with a soft chuckle. “Way to make today extra special, Adrian.”

Betty smiled, showing off her canines

Lysander smiled back and kissed her forehead before walking behind her. “Ready to go in?” he asked, holding the handle on the back of her chair.

She nodded" yeah, I am" she said

Lysander nodded a little and started pushing her to the house.

Laura-Beth ran ahead of them to open the door.

She sighed as Lysander wheeled her inside the house

“Surprise!” The happy call rang out from the gathering in the living room. Practically the whole family had come over; Henry, Tyler, Lysander’s parents, even members of Betty's family. Charles was even there.

" we saw your cars outside" Betty giggled

“Next time, park on the other side of the lake.” Lysander joked.

“We wanted to give you a little warning.” Henry smiled. “Didn’t want to overwhelm you.”

" I just have a few stitches and a torn ligament" she said

“Still, after all that time in that hospital…” Henry pointed out. “It can be pretty stressful even though you're supposed to be there to heal.”

She raised an eyebrow

“What? I’ve worked in hospitals before.” Henry shrugged. “I know what it's like in there.”

“He has a point.” Lysander agreed.

Betty closed her eyes sighing "Okay Henry we get it but I've been going to hospitals constantly since I wass three or did you forget my childhood?"
