The nurse nodded "make sure she takes her medicine "

“I will.” he nodded. The doctor he spoke with told him about the medicine she was being prescribed.

The nurse nodded and left and Betty went to grab the tires to move the chair

“Allow me, mon ange.” Lysander said, taking the handles and beginning to push her towards the car. “I’ve missed you.” he said softly as he leaned over to kiss her cheek.

" I've missed you too" She said with a soft smile

“I’m sorry I didn't get to visit you.” he apologized sincerely. “Tyler was very adamant about me resting and letting my leg heal more. But I thought about you all the time.”

" well you are human and she is a nurse " she said

“Currently human.” he chuckled a little, not too surprised that Tyler was a registered nurse. “And I was an MD once… A couple centuries ago.”

" That was a long time ago Ly" she said

“Maybe so.” he nodded, stopping them in front of the passenger door. “I know medicine has advanced a lot since the last time I practiced but I still remember my experience in that profession.”

" Still " she said with a sigh

He smiled softly at her, agreeing with her point, and gently kissed her.

She winced because of her split lip

“I’m sorry.” he apologized, pulling back as he realized his action.

" it's okay" she said sincerely

He smiled softly at her and opened the door. “You know I'm not the only one who missed you.” he said, changing the topic as he carefully lifted her into the car.

She gripped onto him tightly

He didn't mind the tight hold as he had missed her touch so much. He gently set her down in her seat, waiting for her to be ok with him moving so he could put her wheelchair in as well.

She let go closing her eyes

“Mama!” Laura-Beth squealed happily from her car seat once Lysander closed the door.

"Hi sweetheart " she said not moving her head

Laura-Beth laughed a little, kicking her feet as she wanted to give her mama a hug.

She smiled softly

After loading the wheelchair in the back, Lysander walked back around to the driver's seat. “Ready to go home, my darling?” he smiled.

She nodded softly
